An OutlawQueen Fan Deciphered Some of Page 23…
It Is Said To Be The Story of the Golden Bird? Anyone ever heard of the story?

Don't grow up. It's a trap.

Apparently a collections of stories not published was found in rough draft among papers being traced back to the Grimm Brothers. I read about these manuscripts the first year ONCE was being shown. The manuscripts made news then but I have not heard anything since… real or a hoax ? ? ?

An OutlawQueen Fan Pointed This Out Earlier Today!

Excerpt of The Golden Bird Story:

Remember when I told you those two cages might just be a coincidence? Well, forget about it because it was definitely a clue. The wooden and golden cages are part of the Golden Bird story (Page 23), at some point, the youngest son (Robin) needs to go into the castle to take the bird but without trying to take it out of the wooden cage and put it into the golden one, otherwise something bad will happen, unfortunately, he choose to not listen to the fox and something bad happen where the king (Leopold?) sentence him to death unless he brings him the golden horse.
And all of this happens AFTER the youngest son (Robin) went to the shabby inn (the tavern). And this is where Regina was supposed to meet him (and page 23 proves us that they have met).
Also, I was wondering why the page came to Robin in STM, why not Regina or Henry or whatever, but now I think the page probably came to him because this is his story, and how he met Regina. Lana told us we’ll see more of the missing pages, and it’s fair to say they’ll be all about Robin and Regina. What was written behind Page 23 was the start of the story, the beginning, so the missing pages they’ll find will be the rest of it. And I guess that’s how we’ll dig into Robin’s past (and also why OM will lead them outside of Storybrooke, to find Robin)."If you go as far as you can see...you will then see enough to go even further." - Finn Balor

No, The Golden Bird was already in the first edition of the the first volume of Grimms’ fairy tales from 1812, titled “Vom Goldenen Vogel” (Of the Golden Bird), later simple “Der Goldene Vogel” (The Golden Bird), it’s listed as KHM 57. In an English edition from 1912, translated by Edgar Taylor and Marian Edwardes, it was titled The Fox’s Brush, but usually in English it is titled The Golden Bird.
It’s not the first time, the story pops up in connection with the Storybook of OUaT, as was noted in this forum. 😉 August and the Golden Bird As well here: The Story Book. And some more about the book, pictures and text on this blog
Seems they like this story as filler. Maybe someone gave it some deep going thoughts (IMO unlikely), or maybe it’s just the prop department’s favorite filler text.
¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

We need to find out why Robin’s impression of what happened to Marian and what really happened are two different things. And we just need to find out more about him in general, like how he got his tattoo, his relationship with the Sheriff of Nottingham, whether he really did ”steal” Marian, if he came from landed gentry originally, if his king is Richard the Lionheart and so on.
If the golden bird is a lost story, and Regina and Robin’s story was also lost (due to Regina’s ”choice”) then maybe there is an author afterall (it;s not just Regina’s and others’ imagination), an author who is picking and choosing the characters and their stories.
Thing is though, the presence of the cages in Rumple’s shop suggests that the Golden Bird story happened, making it not a ”lost” story after all.
Confusing but intriguing….!
