Random thought: What if Owen and/or the Home Office were somehow involved in Henry’s adoption? Owen would’ve been a grown man by the time Henry was born (18 years after the curse), and we know he was poking around looking for his father all that time. What if the Office got wind of Gold hunting down a kid? Or that Henry/Emma were magical/not from our world?
We don’t know how long Tamara’s been with Greg, but we do know that she immediately glommed onto August and followed him until he led her to Neal. And we know that a boy could be Rumple’s undoing. If it isn’t Henry (I’m pretty sure it is though), Owen’s a good candidate.

Depends on the exact nature of the Home Office, I suppose. If they are a shadowy enterprise then maybe they don’t get involved in mundane affairs. Or maybe they have front organizations that are legit that could do something like that.

Only one thing that keeps popping up in my head. If they were involved, they’d have to know where SB was to bring in Henry, unless of course Reggie stepped outside to pick him up. I know all other communication could have been done by phone.

I’m totally on board with THO having orchestrated Henry’s adoption, following orders from PP.
There has to be a line of communication between our world and NL, otherwise GOAT wouldn’t have ever thought to take Henry there. So if that line of communication is open now, then why not also 11 years ago when Henry was born. If PP is telling THO, “Bring Henry to me,” in the present day, then why not, “Bring Henry to this particular place,” 11 years ago.
So now that we’ve seen the whole of S2 and we’ve been left with the stunning mystery of why PP wants Henry: I’m totally on board with this theory. If PP has the gift of sight and has been manipulating everything–and I do mean everything–then Henry’s adoption is totally logical. Henry had to end up in SB somehow. PP has his agents in our world orchestrate the entire thing. This makes me wonder: did Regina start looking for a baby to adopt right after she lost Owen? But THO interfered until Henry was born?

If I had to guess I would say Tamara is in charge of the two of them. She was the one who delivered the news that THO wanted them to move on to the final phase. Once Greg ran into Henry in the forest in Welcome to Storybrooke he would at least know of a child in SB but then it took Tamara meeting him in Selfless, Brave and True for the dots to connect that Henry is the son of two magical creatures, but born in a land without magic, if that is indeed what makes Henry so special.

It seems like a long time to wait (11 years). Or was Peter Pan waiting for Henry to reach a certain age since a baby would have remained an infant in Neverland, where no one ages?

THO couldn’t get into SB until the Curse was broken, right?
Rumple did all the paper work, but I think Regina went to Boston and actually got Henry, thus ensuring that no one from the outside would know where SB was.*just re-read your post*
So you’re asking why would they hand Henry over to Regina if they had him from the start?
