There was what looked like an oil can in Gold’s shop.

Yes, I tried to point that out in a couple other posts, as well as, the shoe shine box below the oil cans. August seemed to have been hanging there and even had his hand out towards the shoe shine box when Gold entered. The reason it stood out for me, is, I’ve been thinking August may be The White Knight from Wonderland. I had to chuckle at the humor when, in my head, put oil can, shoe shine and White Knight together because I got a “Knight in Shining Tin Armor.” 😉 Whether, it was a play on the theme by the set decorators or not, we don’t know. Another thing I noticed with the “OZ phone” in question was, it had been moved to the opposite side and edge of the desk when Gold came snooping. Though, It seems like continuity fluke or technical necessity to frame the shot than a hidden clue. So, it could just be explained that August must have made more calls and worked on the typewriter (or typed some nonsense like Jack did in The Shining). I am starting to think August might be “slightly touched” or is not as he seems.

OZ clues are all over the place. Back, when Evil Queen and Jefferson/Hatter jump in his hat and end up in the room of many doors (portal hub, perhaps), there was a door with green curtains and, as the camera panned the room, you could see what looked like two big knobs with the familiar” Z inside the O” emblem for OZ. In one camera shot, you see it then, in the close up from the side, it seems to have been CGI’d out of shot. It was also interesting when EQ said to Jefferson, “I had forgotten how magnificent you are.” I think Jefferson is a Realm Jumper, as mentioned by Rumple quizzing the Blue Fairy on how to find a way to Bae. He asked, was there a “…Realm Jumper, Time-Traveler..or…Mage..”[/i] . So, Jeffers has a magic hat – the classic magician’s hat. Is he more than just The Hatter?

It would be interesting to find out if Mr. Whale was Monstro in the FL world. The names all sem to have a meaning.

I think he is Lorenzini – he ran Pleasure Island, where the cursed water turned the boys into Donkeys. In a struggle, he was kicked overboard and fell into the water, which, turned him into a leviathan..the Terrible Dogfish – or whale aka Disney’s Monstro.

I have an alternate theory that Storybrooke or at least the Hospital/Nunnery may be something of a Pleasure Island, where Lorenzini is more of a mad scientist, using a hallucinogenic Blue Fairy Magic Drug to turn lost boys – and girls, i.e., the Citizens of Storybrooke, into junkies, rather than donkeys. All are pawns. Maybe, they are programming people with Fairy Tale Personality Disorder to be spies and assassins or something. If they can get Emma to believe, then, she would prove a good subject for Lorenzini’s tranformation process.

There is a big con game going on and I can’t quite put my finger on it or how to resolve it but there is something very unmagical and rotten in Storybrooke.
