What if Pan actually opened the box the first time and it was not Pandora? I know really far out there but I have nothing this week. Essays have wiped me out of any imagination I used to have. :/

Actually I kind of like it. They could make it so that one of those evil things that came out of the box “infected” Pan and that’s how he became such a nasty little thing. (I just rewatched Ariel. He is really something else, isn’t he?)
Gypsy is having difficulty posting and asked me to share this:
The thing about Pandora’s box is that it’s connected to Prometheus. Whale/Victor is the science part of the Alchemy theme. Is the box like the cuff Greg and Tamara put on Regina? In other words, is the box indicative of Science being able to contain magic?

I think Pan is what came out of the box the first time which left hope inside. I think Gold’s intention is to release the hope to recapture the evil.

Wow!!! I love that idea 🙂
In further interest of the name and origins of Pandora –
Pan – quite literally was the god of the flock, hence the pied piper connection.
Dora – Dora is a female name of Greek origin, derived from Dorothea (Dorothy) or Theodora,[1] meaning “God’s Gift”, from “δῶρον” (doron), “gift”[2] + “θεός” (theos), “god”.[3] The earliest form of the word is the Mycenaean Greek do-ra, meaning “gift”, written in Linear B syllabic script.[4] The name Dora can also be a short form of Isadora.[5]
Perhaps the person who opened the box was not really named Pandora after all, but the box was named for what it contained – Pan (the evil that infected whoever became Pan) and Dora (God’s gift – perhaps hope?)

😆 It was 5am tomorrow when I finally got off line and went to bed. If only the show aired on Sun night Aussie time, so we could all see it sooner. 😛

If they stick with the traditional story that there is still hope trapped in there, then I could see that hope being released and helping with the rejuvenation of NL in some way, and in the process, Pan gets sucked (back) into the box.
I think hope is in the box. I think that PP shadow is in the coconut, which Neal takes with him to Storybrooke, and that PP follows them to get his shadow back then is trapped into the box.
