Here is a theory:
the Shadow is Pans opposite.. so since Pan is the ‘bad side’ of Peter Pan, his shadow will turn out to be the ‘good side’ and eventually betray the bad Pan and help Emma and the gang save Henry.
something to consider-(source Wiki: In Jungian psychology, the shadow or “shadow aspect” may refer to (1) the entirety of the unconscious, i.e., everything of which a person is not fully conscious, or (2) an unconscious aspect of the personality which the conscious ego does not identify in itself. One tends to reject or remain ignorant of the least desirable aspects of one’s personality. The Jungian shadow can include everything outside the light of consciousness, and may be positive or negative. “Everyone carries a shadow,” Jung wrote, “and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is”
Whatever we deem unacceptable and deny in ourselves becomes part of the shadow, the counterpoint to what Jung called the persona or conscious ego personality. According to Jungian analyst Aniela Jaffe, the shadow is the ‘‘sum of all personal and collective psychic elements which, because of their incompatibility with the chosen conscious attitude, are denied expression in life (especially notice the Word chosen here- Pan chose to do evil, so the counterpart of his persona will be the good))
So my idea is that Pan has cast the good side of himself out, attached himself from it (Like Cora took her Heart out) And now essentially he is the shadow/dark side in his persona, so his shadow will be his light/good side- A shadow can not be, unless there is light- its opposite- the alter ego.

Dont judge a book by its cover!
October 21, 2013 at 5:43 pm #217831PriceofMagicParticipantManson was hired because of his “creepy” voice. In film and television, creepy normally equals bad.

Keeper of FelixOctober 21, 2013 at 5:46 pm #217835RumplesGirlKeymasterHey guys! Quick note: check which section you’re in, cause this isn’t a spoiler section so I had to go in and black out a bit. 🙂
As for myself, I don’t think the shadow is good. I’m actually coming around to the idea that the shadow is the real evil here and is going to plague our heroes even into next half of the season. I think the shadow “found” PP and somehow turned him into who he is.

Keeper of FelixOctober 21, 2013 at 6:05 pm #217842astrawoidParticipantBased on some of Rumple’s conversation in the last episode with Nealfire, I’m thinking PP was just an ordinary kid, until something happened in Neverland with the Shadow or something else that caused him to become the baddie his is now. I do think the Shadow is evil but we’ll see.

Rumple did say something like “he wasn’t always like this.” And Peter almost echos that at the fireside flashback where he says that “Neverland is lonely. The only children that come to play are in my dreams.” To me this implies that Peter was along for a *long* time in Neverland, in the dark, with nothing but the shadow feeding into his nightmares of an abusive father and a horrible life.

So I guess no one is really onboard with this theory. But Im holding on to it for a while, too me it makes good sence.
In Jungian phsycology the shadow aspect of a personality is EVERYTHING wich is surpressed by the concious mind, whether its good or bad. On Once, Pan has surpressed his good self so that there is only evil left in the person that we see.
