I started to add this to the Pegasus thread but decided to start a new topic since this branches off a bit into other topics.

The sextant was decorated with representations of several constellations in addition to the actual picture of Pegasus. I looked to see if the constellation Pegasus was among the star patterns depicted, but it wasn’t there. I thought since Hook said “I’ve never seen these patterns” that the sextant might be decorated with depictions of the constellations of our universe, since Hook had presumably never been here at that time. However, none of the constellations seemed to match real constellations in our universe, (with one possible exception) so I guess we can assume that the constellations depicted on the sextant are supposed to represent those of Neverland.

The one possible exception is intriguing.  On the left hand side of the sextant there were five stars arranged in a group that looks a little like the constellation Cepheus. This may be significant not because of anything to do with the constellation itself or the mythology of Cepheus but because those five brightest stars of Cepheus are in a pattern which looks a lot like a typical child’s drawing of a house (four stars roughly  in a square, topped by one above which represents the peak of the roof). The pattern looks a lot like the house Henry was drawing in the dirt! Here’s a chart of Cepheus.

Nicely spotted!  Here’s a screencap of the sextant.

That one constellation really does look like a house, similar to what Henry was drawing.

Thanks for the screenshot, Phee. I’m travelling and can’t create screenshots. It really helps to be able to see the house-shaped group of stars at the lower left.
