Also remember, this character has been around for a longgg time (who knows how long really) so its not like he’s just facing a 10 year old, he’s potentially facing an evil genius who has been around for ages and just happens to look 10 (for instance).
Finding a 10 year old actor who could pull off “centuries old evil genius overlord” convincingly would be a hard task. Granted, there are many very talented child actors out there, but I reckon whoever they chose, no matter how good the actor, it would just look comical to have all of our adult heroes being scared of a kid.

So the thing is when did Rumple have contact with Peter Pan? Did he meet him as a child? We know he was an orphan raised by family and maybe the shadow visited him as a child, too.
This is one of my fave little theories at the moment, yes. As the next male back from Bae in Henry’s bloodline, I think it would make sense if he was also brought to NL as a child, and allowed to leave.
Of course, we also have the issue of the squid ink, which likely came from Ursula, who is likely in NL, because of the mermaid anvils. But even if so, I could see Rumple having dealt directly with her, and avoided going onto the land, if he’d been there as a child and was scared of going near PP.

So one thing I’m starting to wonder is: does PP really want Henry? What if wanting Henry is only a ruse to get to Rumple?
Was pondering that myself just yesterday and I like it! Maybe it’s just the Dark One’s power that PP is ultimately after, and Henry is the bait in the trap for Rumple.
Of course, we also have to remember that apparently Henry will need to die, (because Felix told Bae it was his lucky day and he’d get to live), so even if it’s the Dark One powers that PP is after, Henry must still be a vital piece to the whole process.

Rumple would have done anything to get his son back. If PP’s aim was Rumple all along then why wait for the grandson when you had the son in your possession to begin with.

Rumple cares more about Bae than Henry, one of the reasons he’s going after Henry is to honour Bae plus Henry is now Rumple’s only link to Bae. I wonder if Peter Pan is trapped in Neverland and Henry is the key to his escape hence why it has to be Henry and not just any random boy.
Henry being the child of the saviour would mean she would have to protect him kind of how in Buffy the vampire Slayer, Dawn was the key but was made to be Buffy’s sister so Buffy would have to protect her.

Keeper of FelixJune 15, 2013 at 12:38 pm #198439RumplesGirlKeymasterThat’s a great point, Jo, and that occurred to me after I posted. It could be Henry PP is really after, but he also wants Rumple and Emma. The Dark One and the Savior.

I like that! It implies that PP needs the combination of dark magic and light magic. Plus, Henry is the combination of magic and non-magic since he is a child of parents from a land with magic who was born in a land without magic.
This whole yin/yang idea could also tie in with the shadow; perhaps when the shadow is ripped from a person, all of the evil within them is isolated in the shadow. If PP has been collecting shadows for centuries, he could be really bad!

True! Gotta be something specifically related to Henry that PP needs. Can’t wait for the season the start so we have more clues to work with.
June 15, 2013 at 3:41 pm #198463HappyEndingsSpectatorMaybe they really want is his Mom(Emma) after all she is more powerful then Regina and Rumble and in order to get her he had to take her son ❓
June 15, 2013 at 7:10 pm #198467PriceofMagicParticipantPerhaps Peter Pan wants the saviour but he thinks Henry is the saviour. Peter Pan seems very anti-girl and since visions of the future are not the most clear of things, Peter Pan may have misinterpreted his vision to think Henry is the one he needs when he really needs Emma.

Yes, this is what I think too.

I like this!
ETA that, actually, thinking about it some more, PP could even know that it’s Emma he needs, and it’s just that he wants Henry is the bait. Felix told Bae he was lucky, he’d get to live. Well, what better way to get Emma to walk right into a trap than to rig it so that she has to come to save the life of her child who’s about to be killed.
