Haven’t seen this being discussed yet:
Question: Any intel on Once Upon a Time‘s casting of Peter Pan? —George
Ausiello: The role of Peter Pan will be played by… a dude! “I can confirm that it will be a male playing the part,” exec producer Adam Horowitz tells TVLine. Beyond that, “Anything to do with that casting we don’t want to talk about, because that would be a big spoiler. Our approach to Peter Pan is one we’re super-excited about. Since Season 1, the Peter Pan mythology was something we wanted to do, but we couldn’t because of the rights issues. Once they were dealt with, we were able to finally go to town and open that world up. We started with Captain Hook, and we knew we wanted to build to what we’re about to do in Season 3.”http://tvline.com/2013/05/15/law-order-svu-finale-spoilers-olivia-death-ask-ausiello/

I imagine he’ll be young-ish (the character at least, they sometimes cast older actors to play teenagers).
Make your predictions now! Anyone got a teenage-young adult actor they’d like to see play PP?"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 15, 2013 at 10:12 pm #194714DemiletoParticipantI don’t have a particular actor in mind, but I think he’ll necessarily need to be played by a young adult, half because it’d feel weird seeing a real teenager commanding guys like Felix and half because in real life Freya Tingley is 19, and you can’t have a Peter Pan that won’t have some level of relationship with Wendy.
Whoever is cast, though, I hope he can convey a creepy touch to the character.

This officially kills Hook as Pan and Bae as Pan.
Bummer. I held on to Nealfire Pan for so long. The actor needs to be at least 19/20 to pull of something with Wendy (even if it’s just enemies). They also need to age Wendy because they had her as 13 in the show but she’s 19 in real life and that was…odd. That’s why so many of us thought she’d be Ariel.

You and almost everyone else on this board. 🙂 OncePodcast was totally the Nealfire Pan bunker, but in the end all the clues and connections connecting Bae to Peter Pan were totally done as a clever red herring to hide Adam and Eddy’s real intentions regarding Peter. It sucks, I know. Here, have a cookie! 🙂

Agreed. My best guess as to how Wendy comes back into play is that Peter will clash at some point with Bae (AKA my belief that Bae’s life in Neverland will resemble a lot the story of the book The Lord of the Flies) , and he’ll bring Wendy to NL again to use her against him. How long until Peter takes that decision could account for a bit of aging for her character.

I think you’re right. A and E have hinted that we will see Wendy again and knocking out time travel, she could only still be around if 1) she had some sort of spell/potion/curse that kept her young or 2) she was in NL. It makes much more sense for her to be in NL. And I also agree that if she’s in NL, it has to be a few years after Bae was taken by the Lost Ones. Casting a 19 year old was strange given how careful A and E are about such things.

Epically if Pan is going to be a bad guy. Me personally it would be interesting if Henry and Pan were around the same age would make this I guess coming rivalry interesting. Depending what Pan want’s Henry for.
May 16, 2013 at 12:41 am #194731RumplesGirlKeymasterThat’s a good point. But child actors are tricky, for a major player like Pan you want a really strong actor and it might be better to get someone older. And like we mentioned, if Wendy and Pan have some sort of relationship, good or bad, they need to be similar in ages.

Once Upon a time is thankfully the exception to the rule we’ve had some great Child actors on this show although it’s a T.V series but in a movie like form. As for the Wendy in the original cartoon and other versions I’ve seen Pan wanted Wendy to be the Lost Boy’s mother. Granted I don’t think they’ll go that direction in Once but Pan could still be younger then Wendy maybe psychologically wanting a mother figure and it ends in tragedy ❓ .I know it sounds weird but it could be possible.

I haven’t seen a single adaptation where Peter Pan isn’t intended to be around Wendy’s age, though. And honestly, I think it’s stretching credibility to have a 12 year old be this overlord whose plans spans centuries and involves other realms.
Then again, I could use it if only to see Greg and Tamara feel retarded for taking orders from a 12 year old! 😆
