A long time ago, before Rumple was even born, it was decreed that fairies would not be allowed to fall in love. A young Blue Fairy grew jealous. Why should the mortals get the most powerful magic? Hoping to harness the power of True Love, she married a man in secret and bore a son, Peter Pan.

Now, I’m assuming that fairies are born as adults, much like dwarves. Therefore, they are intelligent and mature enough to handle the high levels of magical power they are born with. But a half-fairy, half-human child would be born as a baby. They would have incredible magical power but would lack the restraint of an adult. In the words of JM Barrie, children are “innocent and heartless.” Baby Peter would probably end up like Anthony Fremont from the Twilight Zone. This would also explain why she wanted to break up Dreamy and Nova.

The Blue Fairy wants to avoid the shame of creating such a monster but is unwilling to kill him, so she banishes him to Neverland. Peter wants revenge on his mother, but there’s only one way to kill such a powerful fairy. He needs the Heart of the Truest Believer.

Well as someone who always things the BF is up to no good, I think this is a really interesting theory. Once PP has the Heart, how would he kill Blue?

Don’t fairies die by saying “I don’t believe in fairies” then brought back by clapping?

All magic comes with a price!

My theory is that there’s a curse powerful enough to destroy Blue but he has to sacrifice the Truest Believer’s heart much like how Regina had to sacrifice her father’s heart. Sort of an extreme way of saying “I don’t believe in fairies.”
