Peter Pan presents Emma with a map of Henry’s location, but there’s a catch: Emma must come to terms with her true identity. Meanwhile, Mr. Gold gets some surprising advice; and back in fairy-tale land, the Evil Queen has a tempting offer for Snow White

Mr Gold —that is in SB wonder what that is Henry adoption?
[adrotate group="5"]September 27, 2013 at 6:34 pm #212556RumplesGirlKeymasterWell I officially have no idea what to make of any of that. PP gives Emma a map. I…will just be over here in my corner of confusion.
Also I’m pretty sure this is the synopsis? Do we get them this early? Not complaining but…okaaaaaay.

That would be very manipulative. It sort of similar to what Rump did to Regina. Manipulating her into being what he wants her to be.

That fits with why he wants to keep Wendy with him and the Lost Boys. They want turn Wendy into their mother to read stories to them.

For Emma: “Am I just the savior? Is my job just to make everyone else happy? Why do I have this magic?”
Sounds like Emma is also going to have to come to terms with being a savior. Maybe that is what Peter Pan wants? He wants Emma to use her maternal true love magic to help save Neverland.

September 27, 2013 at 11:02 pm #212595HappyEndingsSpectatorI think PP is playing with Emma he is making her guilty for giving Henry up perhaps he is reflecting what his mother did to him. Emma doesn’t have any confidence in herself or trust other people she kind of has a low self esteem about herself and so PP is playing on her weakness to control her.
I also wonder if PP is going to do a “Wonderful Life” thing on Emma showing her what her life would have been if she kept Henry or perhaps what if Snow kept her etc. PP likes to play games and is evil.

So I sorta think you two are both right. I think Emma’s real task this season is saving Henry but also really coming into her own as True Love Incarnate and Savior. But I also think that to get to that place of acceptance she has to first confront all her inner demons and I think HE is spot on with what those are. She has to confront giving up Henry. Even in “The Cricket Game” when she suddenly realizes that she might be his mother full time, after they think Regina killed Archie, Emma says that she doesn’t think she can do this. That she doesn’t know how to be a mom.

Yep, that would fit!
As for the map and having to come to terms with who she is, I guess Henry’s in a place that can only be seen by someone who is a “true believer”, perhaps?
