But why Peter would need to do this if that’s precisely Neverland’s purpose, to keep him a perpetual child?
I’d suggest a small change to the theory, that what keeps Neverland as a place where you never grow old is precisely Peter’s sacrifices of kids and/or their shadows, and Henry’s uniqueness would make him the sacrifice to end all sacrifices.
It could be possible Pan didn’t always need to do this perhaps something happen that made the magic slowly were off on Peter and since time is weird in Neverland and Peter Pan is been slowly aging and maybe now he has become a man in perhaps his 20’s 30’s or even 40’s if they want to really push it because now he has run out of sacrifices.

Maybe he’s totally over being centuries old and trapped in a young body. Maybe his curse is similar to The Dark One in that there’s only one way out of the deal. Maybe the only way is for PP to possess one specific human body, so he can actually grow up and eventually die. And the specific body he needs is Henry’s, because he’s unique in that he’s the product of people from a magical realm, but was the only person in SB who was able to age.

Never considered that. It would make PP both “sympathetic” and “villainous,” which seems to be how OUAT like their Big Bads.
And if Rumple saves Henry by giving up his magic in the saving, then Henry and PP would both be his undoing."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"July 2, 2013 at 5:25 pm #199190judyParticipantSo, maybe, Smee is actually Peter? He wanted eternal life for the bean. Was told he could go to Neverland instead. Then when the curse hit he was yanked out again. Rumple said Hook called him a rat and changed him into one. Maybe Hook thought he deserted the ship. Maybe (as the rat) he returned to the ship and is now on his way back to Neverland with the others. Could he have been Tamara and Greg’s contact? That’s how they knew who to kidnap and he would then have a hold over Rumple to become the new dark one. He finds lost objects. Maybe lost boys also and has been trying to find A child, or in this case, grandchild of the dark one. He was trying to convince Hook to turn him over to Peter. Maybe because he is Peter. Boy is this out there. Lol
