Hey everyone!
Well, it’s that time of the year again. Pilot season. Casting announcements for all sorts of shows are beginning to come in daily so I figure that it’s time to begin my yearly thread to keep track of all of our stars.
Now usually I say that it’s only guest stars that we have to keep an eye out for but that’s not the case this year. We could potentially loose a number of our series regulars due to contracts expiring. Jennifer Morrison and Robert Carlyle have both admitted that their contracts are up and are both unsure if they’ll renew them at this stage. If those two are up, it only makes sense that the rest of our remaining regulars from Season 1 will be up as well (Lana Parrilla, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas and Jared Gilmore).
So how do pilots work? Each network films a large number of different pilots. They then test them with various audiences. The ones that have the more positive reactions are then ordered to series (meaning that they were picked-up and will definitely be airing at some stage in 2017 / 2018). The ones that don’t get picked up are usually dead however sometimes they get shopped around giving other networks the chance to buy them. The announcements regarding what has been picked up and what has been passed on usually are revealed just before the upfronts in May. Because so many of these shows do not get ordered to series, it means that our actors are not committed to a show and can remain where they currently are. For examples of this, check out the 2015 and 2016 threads.
As usual, this thread will be updated every time someone that has appeared in Once Upon a Time (or Once Upon a Time in Wonderland) gets announced for a new project.

Hopefully, though they will still be able to do something interesting.
January 31, 2017 at 8:12 pm #332921MichaelBlockedJMO has given no indication that she is leaving the show. She has stated that she has hope for a S7 and that she has no interest abandoning the character.
I would say if we’re losing anybody it’s Gosh especially from their storyline this season. It could have been a request by them so they could have more time with their family.

The situation was only mentioned in the original post as it *may* take a toll this year (Although it’s highly unlikely that it will since pilots usually film at the same time as the last few episodes of the season – thus clashing with schedules). If anyone wishes to discuss the contracts, please do it on one of the other threads that have been hijacked over the issue. Thanks.

James Marsters (Who played Sir Mordred in the Tales From The Underworld special feature on the Season 5 DVD) has been cast in one of the new Marvel shows.
Even though he hasn’t physically appeared in a proper episode yet (and probably never will), I thought it wouldn’t hurt to include him. Plus we’ve been really quiet this so far this year and I’ve been itching to update the thread. Haha.

I saw that Jamie chung will recur in a Hulu show called casual, but didn`t posted here because is not a pilot, do you want me to post it here either way?

February 22, 2017 at 3:21 pm #333409hjbauParticipantThere is going to be Marvel stuff on Fox now too? Wow, there is just too much of that stuff around for me and i just don’t like any of it. I want to like it, but there are always too many male characters and they are all horrible and the shows are too dark and too slow and just boring. I always give them a chance, but they never really stick for me.
February 22, 2017 at 5:34 pm #333413RumplesGirlKeymasterAw, good for Jamie. Though, I think this means we can kiss any chance of Mulan’s happy ending goodbye.
