I am a Dearie and a Rumbelle ‘shipper, so I voted of course for Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m actually surprised there are 5 votes for Emma and only one for Regina! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
Not surprising that Rumpel’s taking the lead. This forums community truly is more Rumpel-centric.
I picked Snow, btw. ๐Ÿ™‚ I just love how her character (and MM’s) makes me laugh. ๐Ÿ˜€ If there were a second and third pick, I’d be Emma and Regina, though no idea in which order โ€ฆ Red/Ruby is close behind.

What I can’t believe is that Henry is beating Regina! Henry! (Not that there’s anything wrong with liking Henry – at least it’s not David). Well I’m going to go and sit in the Team Regina corner by myself.

*patting romantic_sheep* Snow only has 2 votes, too. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I think most of us who voted for Gold/Rumpel are probably just HUGE fans of Robert Carlyle’s AMAZING acting. At least that’s the case for me…when he speaks either as Gold or Rumpel, I hang on his every word…he’s hypnotizing at times…such a complex character, so intriguing…so cruel sometimes, yet we feel for his pain…how can we not love such a fascinating character?

Exactly. RC conveys so much in the smallest of gestures–a tilt of his head, a rubbing of his fingers–and then he can go so big he’s a tornado that sweeps you in to his emotions, leaving you unable to breathe.

I always love seeing polls about characters. I’ve seen similar results on other websites too. After Skin Deep, Rumpelstiltskin became incredibly popular. I visited 5 different online polls and they all had Rumpelstiltskin as the winner. I’ve seen this type of phenomenon before. The writers set up the story so that the heroes and good guys are meant to be the center of story, and thus the most popular. But the villains or anti-heroes always come out on top as far as the fandom is concerned. But writers always tend to write villains with more depth than the other characters. So, it makes sense that they would have more fans.

    Thanks for everyone’s response!

I agree. Villains and anti-heroes tend to be oddly more sympathetic than the actual heroes. I don’t know if it’s the writing or America’s decline in moral values… ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

Maybe we need a “second favorite” poll, or one that would separate the FTL personae from the SB ones.
