Ok I got a big big pondering…. Killing someone makes you evil, right?
But both Snow and Charming killed dozens of soldiers when fighting his “dad” and the Evil Queen. So why is that any different, extra’s are people too (even if they die several times in several costumes through the series :P) But nobody seems to think it’s a problem when Snow fights to free her man and slashes her sword through a knight (I’m pretty sure that’s deadly) Yet when it comes to Regina and Cora, we go all woooha, don’t, it will make you bad! Sounds like pretty double standards to me.[adrotate group="5"]March 4, 2013 at 2:19 pm #176886jessieparadoxes of peopleParticipantIt’s a paradoxical situation. When Snow was killing the soldiers, you might say it was a just cause, and she had no personal hate towards them.It was just war. With Regina and Cora it’s personal, there’s hate there. And Snow would be doing it not out of justice, but out of hate and spite.Charming said there’s a difference in 2×10″That was an asassination. This is an execution.”Also,in history, the Israelites were commanded to establish capital punishment and go to war against many other nations.Yet they instructed not to murder. There is a very fine line between the two situations.

March 4, 2013 at 9:32 pm #177067andreth starkParticipantThere is a say that goes:
“if you kill a man, you are a killer, if you kill 10, you are a monster, if you kill 1000, you are a hero, if you kill 10 000… you are a conqueror!”
I can’t remember who said that, but it is perfectly applicable here, and in all wars: Everything depend on the social acceptation or not towards the act.March 4, 2013 at 10:04 pm #177076jessieparadoxes of peopleParticipant@Andreth Stark wrote:

I see your point.Society often gets to dictate to its people what’s right and what’s wrong.
But what if society suddenly accepted the act of extreme profanity? What if the world accepted prostitution as a regular part of culture? What if we all accepted the pagan religion of the Incas and started sacrificing people? We can’t depend on what society thinks and accepts because a lot of times society is wrong! We shouldn’t accept something as right just because society tells us it’s right. If we accept something as right,we should accept it because it is right, regardless of what society thinks about it.Likewise, what society thinks about something that’s evil through and through does not ever change the naked truth that it’s evil.Keeper of King George's Coat of arms;Tiny's pickaxe;Belle's bronze vase;Emma Hacker device and true love kiss to Henry;Granny's surcharge on pickles;Snow's "Good will always win;Regina's apple turnover;Gold's pink shirt,Mickey phone,&glasses(1x12);RQ's chess set,and Chip's shattered remains
March 4, 2013 at 10:49 pm #177104spinninggoldParticipantYa dearies can explain it all you like, but fictional fact is that fictional soldier man, like young Rumpel, probably had a fictional wife and family before he died at the end of Snow’s sword. He became a fictional soldier to put a fictional roof over their heads, and fictional bread on the table. He was a fictional person… His fictional life is just as important as Regina’s or Cora’s.
And if OuaT states that taking a life changes someone, than either Snow is already changed or killing does not change you. Come on Adam & Eddie! Consistency!March 4, 2013 at 10:57 pm #177109jessieparadoxes of peopleParticipantThey are being consistent!Consistent with what really happens in life. These characters might be fictional but they are placed in realistic situations(minus the magic) and as such react in very realistic ways!*Enters the concept of paradoxes!*Real life:full of paradoxes.Fictional world with 99%realistic situations:alao full of paradoxes

March 9, 2013 at 8:57 pm #178538PriceofMagicParticipantHere’s a pondering. In Rumple’s phonecall to Belle, he said that Belle makes him want to go back to the best version of himself. Which version does he consider to be his best self? Pre-ogre war Rumple? Pre- dark one with a limp Rumple? Early dark one that saved children from the ogre war Rumple?

What I’m also curious about is why didn’t Rumple want to move to another village like Milah suggested? All he said when she brought it up again was,”We talked about that…” ❓ ❓ ❓

March 9, 2013 at 10:54 pm #178572PriceofMagicParticipantPerhaps they couldn’t afford to move. I don’t know how much a cottage in fairytale land sells for but, with Rumple’s reputation as a coward, it’s likely if Rumple did try and sell up that he wouldn’t get the price he was asking for.
Milah’s suggestion was probably just wishful thinking.
