Maybe the dagger works like athames in Charmed. It sucks out power. So whe n u stab the dark one with it, it transfers its power to the person who did the stabbing. Maybe Rump is TAKING Pans power and thus Pan is no longer youthful.

This particular type of athame, referred to as a Power-Sucking Athame, has the ability to absorb the powers of whomever is stabbed with it. The powers are stored within the blade until they are extracted. It is commonly used by Warlocks to kill witches and steal/store their powers

That’s possible. His dagger seems to be quite useful (e.g. he summoned the Wraith with it in “Broken”).

Also, I think it’s increasingly possible that PP simply is Rumple’s father. I don’t think this is just one more of PP’s mind-games. Even though PP likes his games, I think his dying reverts him to his true form (i.e. Rumple’s dad) similar to how Belle’s love transformed the Beast back into his true human form.

It’s also possible that rather than PP just looking like a younger version of Rumple’s dad that it was actually a disguise/curse which completely changed his appearance to be unrecognizable to Rumple.

    That fashion sense, though.

I’m still sticking to my crackish theory that Pan is Rumple’s father.  They’ve showed us the healing waters of NL.  I still maintain that Colin was mortally wounded and somehow ended up in Neverland.  Because he shrugged off responsibility as a parent, he morphed himself into what he always wished to remain, a child.  He became Pan.   He harnessed the dark power from that island, probably tricked the first man into becoming Zoso that eventually led to Rumple’s fate as the dark one.  Rumple will trick him, create a future for NL with that puzzle box of his and turn the dagger on the ultimate evil thus finally breaking his curse and his father’s curse.

Now, I wonder what happens to the dagger when all of this is said and done.  Will it be given to Ariel as another thingamabobs for her collection. 😉

Look at that! He’s protecting his step-mum! I just can’t handle this.

I’m still not a fan of PP=GrandpappyStiltskin, but I will see how this pans (punny) out.

P.S. Just look at that man. Bobby is just mesmerizing. I can’t take my eyes off of him.

So I’ve been pouring over these pictures and I think the timeline of this scene goes as follows:

    1) Henry is with Regina and she has the small red vial (assuming that’s what was in that mysterious little box) and is planning to use it against Pan.

    2) Pan shows up and confronts them. Regina goes down defending Henry. Pan takes the vial.

    3) The rest of them come over and help Regina. Pan taunts them.

    4) Rumpel surprise attack! Pan is stabbed (you can still see the vial in his hand when he’s stabbed.)

    5) Pan transforms into his true form (Rumpel’s dad) and dies.

Unknowns: I read somewhere that the cast had to pretend to be frozen for a minute during the scene. Not sure where or how that fits in. Also in one of the pics it looks like Neal is watching something in the sky while taking a defensive posture in front of Belle. I’d suspect Pan’s shadow is flying around, but this is a day scene so /shrug.
