Another cracky twist option that just came to me…
Part of my thinking with the Brothers theory has been that Pan kidnapped their father, to leave Rumple feeling abandoned, (because Rumple was the favoured son, so Pan wanted to make him suffer and steal their father back for himself), and he’s had him prisoner in NL. It’s why I thought he could be a contender for who was in the other cage, but now we know that’s gonna be Wendy, (pretty sure an article somewhere confirmed that?).
So, what if the way Pan imprisoned their father was to merge with him somehow? Maybe he took Daddy’s shadow and attached it to himself? That could explain Pan still having a shadow, but the Shadow also being his, if he’s got two of them. (Rumple did say “Pan” when he saw Belle morph into the Shadow, so I’m thinking it’s likely that the Shadow is actually Pan’s, but we’ve also seen Pan with a shadow attached to himself). It could even explain how perhaps they’ll defeat the Shadow, but Pan will still live, if he and his original shadow are no longer tethered because he got himself a new shadow instead.
So, with the stabbing, perhaps killing Pan is the only way to set their father free of his imprisonment? Papa will die in the process, but it’s the only way to free his tormented soul. Rumple killing Pan, as a means to setting their father free, would actually be an act of compassion, showing that he’s no longer holding the abandonment against his father. Perhaps whatever Neal is looking up at is his grandad’s shadow, or even just his spirit flying away once it’s been set free? (It sorta reminds me of the end of the original Little Mermaid, when she goes to throw herself into the sea to turn to foam and die, but instead her spirit was lifted up with the daughters of the air. Kitswitz would have had Little Mermaid-y stuff in their heads when they were planning this first half of the season.)
[adrotate group="5"]November 8, 2013 at 12:35 am #222090HappyEndingsSpectatorI am starting to think Pan sacrifice to save the others noticed he doesn’t have his dagger out surely he knows Rumble will attack him but I could be wrong 🙂

I actually had a similar thought a few pages back. But it went like this: if the Shadow is the real big bad here and is controlling Peter Pan, then Pan might wish to be released from his enslavement and thus is goading Rumple into attacking him. When he morphs into their father, his final words are in thanks for finally freeing him from the evil clutches on the Shadow.
Just another crack theory to toss out there.

I mean a “wind” fan… 😛

Our mystery man has a face!Warning! Crack pot theory:
I think that PP is Rumple’s father in disguise. In the pics above it has what looks like imo Rumple stabbing PP, then in the next pic is an old man who is presumably the guy cast to be Colin who is said to be Rumple’s father. I think Colin chose the curse to be PP, but he saw it as a blessing.
Time to hide your crazy, and start acting like a lady.

either that or PP is cursed into being an old man which to him is a fate worse than death.

I suspect the massive fan was set up because there’s gonna be a magical moment that will blow everyone’s hair back, like when the Curse was broken. My guess would be that there’s a wave of magical energy that flows out when Pan dies.

I was wondering why that fan was there lol, I like it!
The only thing is we don’t really see any shots of Robert Carlyle falling down afterward to make me think he’s going to need TLK to save him. Wouldn’t him being injured/dying after stabbing Pan be shown in this scene? Unless I missed something, which is possible lol.

That’s true but the crew also started putting up huge walls/blockades after the photographers apparently got zealous. So what happens next we’re missing. And I’m grateful. I love spoilers but I kinda wish I didn’t see half of these. (though I’m adamant in my belief that PP does NOT = Rumple’s father)

Oh okay, I didn’t know they blocked the rest of the scene. I also don’t think PP is Rumple’s father. The reports say that Rumple stabs PP and then stabs a second person (middle-aged man/Rumple’s father). He had already stabbed PP, so even if PP ages up he’s still stabbed, the wound doesn’t go away, so Rumple wouldn’t have to stab him again if it were the same person.
Maybe they shot these scenes out of sequence – they wanted to get the stunt work over with so they shot Robert stabbing them both one after the other, and once they cut and edit the episode together the stabbings won’t happen so close together (after the blocks went up they might’ve shot a scene with Rumple’s dad coming up to him after stabbing PP or something like that). Idk, who knows how this stuff works lol.
