KeymasterSome things we’ve been saying in chat
–HE brought up the fact that magic has been dying for awhile (ie: last bean, last enchanted tree)
–What if magic in realms is tied directly to the Blue Fairy
–So she manipulated everything so that Rumple would have Regina enact the Curse to sned everyone to a land without magic where she would be able to live forever because there is no magic to loose.
–But then Rumple brought magic to SB and thus she started dying again
–A recent spoiler stated that a new curse or a change in magic is coming to SB, what if it’s that magic is beginning to die in our world. Thus the Blue Fairy is once again dying.
–So instead of “dying” she actually POOFs herself to another land where magic hasn’t yet started to fade but our cast ONLY THINKS she’s dead.

“Oh man what if the hat is left by Pinnochio to honor Gepetto.”

ParticipantSeeing Pinnochio’s hat, my money is on Geppetto dying. The hat looks like it might be wet, and it’s sitting by the water, so perhaps Geppetto drowns while trying to save him. Last time it happened, he almost drowned, this time, he’ll actually drown. Maybe, if Pan’s in town, it’ll have something to do with him trying to collect Pinocchio as a Lost Boy.
I don’t think this death will be a fake out. They did that so recently with Archie, and all season we’ve had Rumple talking about going to his death, but we all know that’s not actually gonna happen, so I think this death will be a legit death that will be a “dead is dead” situation.
What the BF said to Archie pertains to him as an enchanted cricket, since a cricket’s life would of course be shorter than a human, BUT the curse reversed his condition. He is now a normal human man again, and therefore, I do not think his life is tied any longer to her “blessing”. So I think Gepetto can die, and Archie can live on, thanks to Regina’s curse.
They’re trying to redeem Regina, so they may be trying to show the “silver linings” in her curse theme that first came up in the Ruby and Whale scene in In the Name of the Brother.
Makes sense to me.

that hat is thoroughly suspicious, I’ll admit.

KeymasterI had some more thoughts. The three most popular guesses I’m seeing are Tink, Blue and Geppetto. Here are my thoughts:
Tink: not gonna happen. I actually expect her to become a reoccurring guest star and this has a lot to do with Regina. Regina, as we know, is going to have a new man in her life. And that’s bound to terrify her. The one thing Regina really doesn’t have that everyone else does is a friend. I think Regina is going to need a friend to talk to and Tink the best candidate.
Blue: Blue Fairy fake dying is my number one suspicion now. What if HE’s theory that I typed up is correct and Blue more or less vanishes into another magical realm. What if it’s Oz? What if Blue and the Wicked Witch of the West are linked–friends, sisters? Her clothes puddling on the stairs near the convent is very close to the Wicked Witch dying in the Oz movie, her body vanishing but her clothes remaining.
Geppetto: I don’t know if it makes sense from a narrative POV. Why kill him? What does the story gain? How does it drive our characters for the next half of the season?
I think whoever “dies” has to push our characters into the conflict of the next half of the season and Blue’s Oz-like “death” might just be the trick.

KeymasterA good point was just made in chat. But we know that Tink and Snow were filming in a graveyard earlier in 310. We also know that they only have two people in common: Regina and Blue. It’s not Regina. Blue makes sense.

ParticipantBlue is also closely connected to Pinnochio.

That’s true…..ugh. Seriously. I *hate* spoilers like this because it’s just going to drive everyone nuts. I just get why’d they kill Geppetto *now* From a narrative standpoint does it make sense?

ParticipantGepetto makes sense if there is a threat to Pino’s August memories returning, and Gepetto takes the magic attack meant for Pino. Then BF vanishes in a puddle when they go to confront her–and off to Oz!
