So, Poseidon claimed to be a deity. Does that make Ursula one too?
Is this Ursula
1. The one who gives Mermaids legs once every year?
2. The one who used the golden statue to threaten Regina?
or was that the actual Sea Goddess?
Does Ariel know about this Ursula? So many questions…

This is the Ursula Ariel was referring to and the one the sailors worship. This is also the REAL Ursula that Regina encountered through her mirror. So where does that leave Merrin Ursula? Well I always thought it was odd that Regina is so…mouthy with this Ursula, unafraid. She calls her a B-word, says she couldn’t magick her way out of a paper bag and is just generally dismissive of her power in general. Why? Because at some point in the EF Regina met this Ursula and found out she isn’t the sea goddess she thought she was. This Ursula, Merrin, is nothing more than a glorified witch of the sea. But the other Ursula is an epic powerful goddess.

The Original deity Ursula was the one that came to life through the mirror, the one who was the statue, and the one Regina impersonated during “Ariel.”
This Ursula was named after the the Ursula above and turned herself into an octopus to be more like the goddess she was named after. So far, we have not seen this Ursula in action, as we know the Ursula that goes with the Little Mermaid Story was the Evil Queen in disguise.
I don’t have a problem with the show not specifying if she was a deity like her father – i think it is a minor detail. Perhaps that was the reason she could take to magic so easily and become a famous villain. None the less, I didn’t feel like i was missing something from the episode by them not specifying. She may have some sort of royal blood in her – but her father is probably immortal as most gods are so I don’t think she could ever claim the sea for her own or anything like that.

Unless she wanted the gauntlet to find something that could make him mortal. I mean, Hades did it to Hercules.

But we don’t know this as *fact*. Merrin Ursula still knows Regina, implying she was the one who came through the mirror or at least they met at some point. We can only speculate but we don’t know either way.
