I’m still going with Pan is a position in NL – similar to Rumple being the Dark one, but instead of a dagger, the Shadowis what makes a person the Pan.
I honestly get the impression that something dark is coming in NL. The Shadow (metaphor for darkness), the wraith, trapped souls, never aging. All sound pretty dark.
I’m thinking that Pan’s Shadow was luring Wendy to NL so that Baelfire would follow. I think it wants Bae for some reason. Possibly, it’s chosen him to be the next Pan. Maybe it just wants another lost boy.
Somehow, Nealfire leaves Neverland forever and is no longer the Pan because he grows up.Maybe when Neal left NL, he took the Pan out of NL with him, passed it on to his son, Henry, and now Henry has to become the new Pan.
kidnapping Henry:
The reason GOAT wants Henry is because they need him to become the new Pan or something, and that will get them into Neverland. GOAT definitely has ties to other lands somehow. I’m enjoying the “Home Office” theories being connected to the Darlings – searching for Wendy possibly. Kidnapping Henry – the kid of Tamara’s fake fiance – seems to specific to be something arbitrary. I believe they want him because he’s Neal’s son. that the important factor. It’s quite possible that GOAT or at least Tamara knows things about Nealfire that WE, the audience, do not know. Could it be his past in NL as PP. Will see?
this is a stretch i know, but there would be some major irony with Rumple being cursed as the dark one and Neal being cursed as the Pan.
I’m also very open to Hook having been the Pan at one point as well. We’ll see.
[adrotate group="5"]May 2, 2013 at 6:08 pm #190682RumplesGirlKeymasterYour theory sounds very much like something Slurpeez, Phee and I eventually came around to early this morning in this thread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=3844&start=50 (start on page 6 for the Pan theory and pg 2 for the Home Office and the Darling Family)
Specifically :
the idea that “Pan” is a title passed down. So there is not an actual Peter Pan, but rather a powerful fairy/shadow creature called the Pan who has magical powers. Whoever captures the shadow can use it for their own devices, controlling the shadow. Know what this sounds like? The dagger. Whoever has the dagger can use control the Dark One; whoever has the shadow controls it. If Bae eventually captures the shadow and controls it, at some point the implications that he has become like his father would hit. And maybe that is what caused him to leave NL and return to our world.
while I do think flying to NL is going to be the central way to get there, it doesn’t mean it’s the only way. They’ve hinted at “Neverland-adjacent” which is frustratingly opaque and could indicate that there are other ways to reach NL besides flying. And like I said, once George died, maybe the Home Office’s mission changed to eradicating magic (let’s go nuts and combine the two: maybe Dorothy took over the Home Office because she had been recruited by them when she got back from Oz and then she, years later, recruited GOAT). When companies change hands often times the mission and outlook of that company changes depending on who is now in charge.
And I do think it’s worth mentioning that the Home Office has probably been around for a long time, as they seem to have unparalleled resources at their disposalIn short, many of us have had the same thoughts so it sounds like a lot of us are really on to something here!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 2, 2013 at 7:28 pm #190704PanTheManParticipantThank you for responding, Rumplesgirl! And that link. I’ve been avoiding getting on here while i wait for Sunday’s episode. it’s actually made things quicker, but this similar theory we are having kinda hit me last night. I just feel sure Henry will be more than just leverage in the kidnapping.
I’ve been waiting for them to develop Henry in a direction other than Emma and Regina’s (and now Neal’s) son. This kid is like the show’s… pardon the LOST reference… John Locke – character with strong faith. I’m thinking their ultimately has to be something special about him too.
If Henry has inherited “Pan powers” from Neal or has something special, then it makes him being Rumple’s “undoing” a bit more… ominous.
