    When someone reloads a forum index page, such as “Recent posts (with spoilers)”, the forum software doesn’t always update the “you’ve read this thread” icons or the time since each thread’s last posting. However, posting a new message seems to trigger a refresh. So, let’s have a thread for that! Since all magic has its price, include a piece of trivia (not too personal) unrelated to the show. I’ll start:

    When dealing with text files created on a variety of platforms, the most useful shell command is tr '\r' '\n' file.txt.
