Maybe. We know Eva was poisoned.
Cora: As for you… Poison looks good on you. And death is most certainly your colour.
There may be varying degrees of poison but I think you’re right. The fairies magic wouldn’t work, but magic in general would work. Just like the magic of Lake Nostos would have worked had Ruth taken the water.

All we know is that the picture of Bae is there at the time of S,B,&T. We don’t know it was in the book before that point. Does Henry comment on Pinnochio’s story increasing? I kind of thought he was less worried about the book, and more on getting Emma to believe at that point in time, so he might not have noticed if there were stories he hadn’t seen yet.
In any case–whether August read about Bae in the book begs one question–when did he do that? Because far as we know, he had not yet been to SB when he cornered Neal in the alley. So there has to be more story here, either August came to town on a previous trip before finding Emma, or someone else told him about Bae, or he knew him becasuse he met him. I really like the idea that he is on the run from the HO. It would lead to better in-story reasons for why August felt it so necessary to separate Neal and Emma.

May 24, 2013 at 9:07 pm #196016RumplesGirlKeymasterI think that’s a good guess and it was mine. He knew Bae’s story when he got to SB, we know he knew Bae by that point. So I think it makes more sense that August added that story. He may have come to SB before Tallahassee and that’s how he knew Jefferson?

Regina: I need you to look into something, Sheriff. Someone’s in town – someone new.
Emma: Yeah, I know. I gave him directions to Granny’s the other night.
Regina: You talked to him? What’d he say?
Emma: He asked for directions. What’s the big deal? Who is he?
Regina: I don’t know. I asked around, but no one seems to know anything. There’s something about him. Something familiar.
Emma: He must be one of the untold millions you cursed.
Regina: What?
Emma: Oh, you know. The curse. Henry’s whole thing.
Regina: Sheriff, I need you to find out who he is, what he wants and what he’s doing here.
I find that pretty ambiguous about whether she had seen August in storybrooke, or was thinking of little boy Pinnochio all grown up. She also says to Greg/Owen that she almost didn’t recognize him–but she eventually does. So she can place a grown up face to a little boy’s face–but perhaps August was a little harder for her to recognize as she hadn’t spent as much time with little Pino as she had little Owen.

May 24, 2013 at 10:54 pm #196022HappyEndingsSpectatorI disagree it didn’t take long for Regina to remember Owen, but for August who was around a lot more she couldn’t place who he was means to me till that August has been there before especially since they cut that scene with the Mad Hatter and August talking. Besides how did August know about the well, the nuns etc.
May 24, 2013 at 11:01 pm #196023RumplesGirlKeymasterI agree with both of you. 😆
It makes more sense for Regina to know little Pinocchio.
But August knows a lot about SB for having never been there.
And when Emma asks him if he’s been to SB before August says, “I didn’t say that.” which is really frustratingly ambiguous."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 24, 2013 at 11:11 pm #196024HappyEndingsSpectatorOne more thing how did August know where Henry kept his book only Emma and Henry knew according to Henry if he never been to SB ❓
