He must have been following Emma and Henry from a distance because Henry got the book fairly recently in S1 even if August had been to SB before, Henry wouldn’t have had the book yet.

That he must have learned by spying on Henry. The book would only have been in Henry’s hideout in the last year or so, as Henry was not given the book by MM the moment he got to SB, but only when he was in her class.
I do wonder if he could have gone and come more than a few times without Regina connecting the dots on him. Even if she didn’t know who he was, if he even showed up 2 times I think she ought to have been written as more suspicious and wary of him, more freaked out, than she seemed to be. She really felt quite threatened and was confrontational with Kurt the moment they sort of met. She calmed down for a bit but then, of course it ended tragically.

May 24, 2013 at 11:53 pm #196028RumplesGirlKeymasterLet’s say August has been to SB before. Why? Probably to talk to Jefferson, who’s house is on the outskirts of town (if I remember correctly) and not in the main parts. So, I doubt Regina would have seen him if August simply popped in and out over the years.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 25, 2013 at 12:14 am #196029HappyEndingsSpectatorHenry got the book 6 months or so before Emma had arrived so August wouldn’t have known where the book was Snow told Emma about Henry’s castle so there is no way August could have followed Henry. Someone else had to know about the book and I wonder if the BF put a curse on it someone to trace it.
May 25, 2013 at 12:17 am #196030RumplesGirlKeymasterYes Snow told Emma about the castle, but August is more than capable of following Emma to the castle without her knowing. Or even following Henry.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 25, 2013 at 12:24 am #196031HappyEndingsSpectatorBut August wasn’t in town when Henry got the book, and I don’t think Henry visited the playground that much just to look at the book.
Question: Where are all of Aurora’s fairies, didn’t she have three plus Maleficent so where are the other 3 at maybe they escaped the curse some how and that is how Henry etc came about ❓
May 25, 2013 at 12:39 am #196032RumplesGirlKeymasterThe Original Sleeping Beauty(Disney Version) had three fairies, yes but we don’t that the Aurora in Once is that Sleeping Beauty because of her comment that Maleficent went after her mother. In the original tale, the original Sleeping Beauty pricks her finger on the spinning wheel, falls asleep and is then awoken by TLK. Then the prince and she get married and have two children, one of which is named Aurora. So we don’t know if the Aurora had the fairies or really what her story is. It’s worth noting that, I believe, in the original tale–non Disney–there were 7 good fairies.
And as to Henry and the Playground, he still went there. In fact he buried the book there when they thought times were dangerous, after Regina killed Graham. So it’s very possible that August saw Henry or Emma from a distance either talking there or visiting there and surmised that the book would be hidden there. It was their secret place after all, just like the book is their secret.

Which means August had to be there before the rained that day when Henry went to checked on this book. August comment to Henry that a storm is coming he wouldn’t have known where to look if he wasn’t in SB before all of this.
Also, maybe one of Aurora’s mothers fairies told August about the dagger etc.

I…don’t know anymore. 😆
We know August took the book. How he figured out where it was….is…magic!"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 25, 2013 at 3:13 am #196039HappyEndingsSpectatorQuestion: Wasn’t it the BF that gave the book to Snow, I can’t remember ❓
Rumpelstiltskin: Tsk tsk. The infant is our only hope. Get the child to safety. Get the child to safety and on its twenty-eighth birthday, the child will return. The child will find you and a final battle will begin.
Rumble lied didn’t he, I wonder what else he lied about.
