hat can’t be right either remember Neil didn’t know August when then met the 1st time just before they put Emma in jail. No, there has to be something else or someone else that told Pinocchio/August about the dagger and how to use it. I don’t think August was in NL either, no one else can seem to jump around with out beans etc. I also don’t think the Mad Hatter knew about the dagger either only the BF, Bae, Cora, and the Duke knew about the dagger and how to use it.
Actually it would still work: Pinocchio would have been a wooden boy when he met Bae on NL. There is a huge difference in appearance between a wooden Pinocchio and an adult August.
As to how he got to NL: that’s tricky. In the Pinocchio story he is taken to Pleasure Island with other boys who are told about all the “wonders” they will find there. I’m beginning to wonder about Tink and how she fits into this. It’s possible she and Shadow are responsible for getting boys to NL and she brings boys from FTL. Just a thought I’m having.
As to the Hatter: we have no proof that he knew about the dagger, but he does know August and for some reason A and E cut the scene from The Stranger where the two talk at Jefferson’s house. If August knew Bae and Jefferson, it’s possible that Jefferson heard about the dagger from August who heard from Bae. Jefferson already knew Rumple from FTL.[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 23, 2013 at 10:07 pm #195866kfchimeraParticipantLike I said, there is so much untold story that it may be something they plan to dole out later. There was a tweet from Adam saying they hadn’t shown yet who called the cops on Emma–so I do think they might have a plan to show more of it–particularly if they can work something with Eion Bailey.

May 23, 2013 at 10:18 pm #195867HappyEndingsSpectatorWhy would Pinocchio be wooden boy he was a real boy when he came to the States orginally. Why would Neil don’t know August or be so surprised that he knew his name. Only Cora, Gold, BF and the guy who had the orginal dagger knew about Rumbles son before the curse even Regina didn’t know about Bae till after the curse.
May 23, 2013 at 10:24 pm #195868KebParticipantWe’re suggesting that Pinocchio visited NL before the curse, while Neal was (presumably) still there. Back before he became a real boy the first time.

Gepetto builds a little wooden puppet named Pinocchio to stave off his loneliness.
The BF enchants the wooden boy, turning him into a wooden puppet who can move and walk.
Pinocchio investigates the world and eventually finds himself in a lot of trouble with a group of boys who are taken off to Pleasure Island–they are told that Pleasure Island is a wonderful place where they can do whatever they desire. If I remember correctly, one they are there, they are never allowed to leave.
Somehow Pinocchio makes it out (I can’t recall how) and as Pinocchio and Gepetto are fleeing, the incident with the whale occurs. We saw the whale scene in the episode The Stranger. After the flee the whale, the BF turns Pinocchio into a real boy. This is the only part of the Pinocchio story we’ve seen so far.
I’m suggesting that Pleasure Island and Neverland are the same. Based on what we know about NL in Once thus far, they sound remarkably alike. If Pinocchio went there, he may have met Bae and Bae may have told him about the dagger. Young boys tend to commiserate. As for Jefferson, we don’t know how he knows August or Bae, but I’d be willing to be that all three of them know each other and about the dagger."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 23, 2013 at 10:41 pm #195871DemiletoParticipant@RumplesGirl wrote:

It’s funny, Pleasure Island itself wasn’t in my mind when I first started thinking of this theory, it came much as a consequence of me noticing spiritual similarities between Peter Pan and Lampwick. The jump to Neverland = Pleasure Island was then a natural one and by the end of the finale I was about convinced of the theory’s solidness. 🙂

It’d definitely give an ironic twist to the Rumple/Jefferson ruby slippers scene in The Doctor – if only Rumple had babbled that he wanted to find his son Bae to Jefferson he might’ve reunited with him sooner. I’m all for it! 🙂

That doesn’t really make any sense he was about 10 years old when he came to the states as a real boy, even if he was a wooden boy how on earth did he and his father travel back and forth to NL on that little raft? Besides that wouldn’t explain the surprise look on Neil face that August knew his name was Beafire nor the fact that I am sure Bae wouldn’t have told anyone other then Hook about his fathers name and dagger he didn’t even tell Wendy about his Dad or the dagger..
Nah, I think that is really reaching on an idea in my opinion. By the way wasn’t the cricket with Pinocchio when he did that little trip.
May 23, 2013 at 10:52 pm #195874KebParticipantHappyEndings: In biological terms, he was seven when he came through the tree. (It says so in the newspaper articles they show.) But who knows how long he was a wooden boy before then? And the original story does have him traveling to Pleasure Island; portals DO exist in the EF and some people use them regularly (like Rumple and Regina, who use Jefferson a lot). The problem is that such portals don’t go to places without magic. NL seems to have magic.
Jefferson knew a lot–partly because he spent time working for Rumple and Regina back in his portal jumping days. Although, yes, he had the whole curse to work out the Belle thing, I think he knew about Belle before the curse–and I daresay that she was Regina’s best-kept secret (she would have to be), and not exactly something that Rumple blabbed about a whole lot (though he did tell Regina about his promising maid and David that he’d been in love once and she was dead). It’s plausible that Hook found out about her through Jefferson, actually. With his travels, he could have learned quite a bit.
Though he didn’t know why Rumple wanted to go to a land without magic (why would anyone want that?), he did know that Rumple was seeking a path.
What isn’t yet clear, but what will surely be made clear next season, is why Rumple didn’t go to NL to get Bae if there is magic there. (Or why he didn’t succeed if he tried.)

Well it’s funny on my end, because I never made the PP and Lampwick connection. I went straight to NL = Pleasure Island. But now that you bring it up….yeah. 🙂
And as for how Pinocchio would get to NL and back, we’re forgetting the Shadow. He clearly takes boys to NL just by carrying then. He didn’t need a portal but the difference is PP wouldn’t want little Pinocchio there. He knows, if he has the gift of sight, that Pinocchio has to go through the wardrobe with Emma, because if he doesn’t it would be Snow and if it was Snow, Emma wouldn’t have had the life she did, wouldn’t have met Bae and wouldn’t have had Henry which Peter’s WHOLE GOAL.

HappyEndings, perhaps your memories of the Disney movie are a bit rusty. Pinocchio got separated from Geppetto pretty early in the cartoon, a reunion between them would only happen at the very end of the movie, at the belly of Monstro. Before that happened he was essentially an orphan – a Lost Boy.
Here’s a link to the Disney wikia page of the movie if you want to refresh your memory: http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Pinocchio
