My entire point is that they haven’t written a good story in like three years. That is my point. And the little we know about Season 7 is that Henry was out of character when he answered the door which leads to the idea that he has a memory problem. Lana said that their characters will be a little bit different then they used to be which suggests they are either past versions or cursed. If they are their real selves then we know that Regina, Rumpel, Henry, and Hook are not in Storybrooke and are therefore away from their families.
All of this information suggests the possibility of just another curse, just another memory problem, and that is not interesting. That is not new just because there will be some new characters. It is the same old bad writing with different characters. We don’t even know if there are going to be more new regulars then Lucy and her mother. I am not convinced because the little bit we know seems like the same old same old.
They are still planning the season though, so i am not even sure that the writers know where they are going right now or they didn’t when they did all those interviews. We just need more information that actually suggests they are doing something different.

They are going to have to give Lucy’s mother a backstory and that could be interesting.

Hmmmm, idk. I think the villains have been such a huge success on this show that A&E are probably going to continue having villains get their backstories and redemption stories and focus on them as main or supporting characters. Even now, I think Lucy’s mom is going to the villain/darkness/thing we saw burst through the door at the beginning of the last episode.
The villains are just too deliciously evil but most importantly….a lot of them are just plain fun.

I would agree that it is good guess that Lucy’s mother is possibly the evil that burst through the door at Henry as well. That could be the reason he walked away from the magical world. I just don’t find that interesting and i would find Henry’s love interest being a villain to be the same old same old that doesn’t work. I think that the villains are the worst written characters on this show though people may disagree. Regina and Hook have caused the most inconsistencies and Rumpel has remained static for far too long.
We will see, i guess.

It defeats the purpose of this thread, and it’s going offtopic. I specifically stated this at the start of the thread:
We all have mixed feelings regarding Season 7, but I would like to take this thread to fully focus on just the potential positives. So let’s keep the “They’re losing too many cast members, it’s gonna be terrible”, “they’ll ruin all the happy endings” or “the ratings are going to crash” nonsense out of this. We’ve already had plenty of other threads to vent about that.

Sorry for my previous post above this one. My phone was spazzing out and it was an accident. Someone can delete it – I wasn’t sure how to.
Thank you MatthewPaul. I was just going to say this before you posted. The negative criticism is valid and someone can even make a thread titled, “Potential NEGATIVES for S7” if they want to. We all realize these are POTENTIAL positives that may or may not come to pass. I was coming to this thread specifically to share excitement for S7 and what could be great about it, but now I can’t even do that 🙁

Actually it wouldn’t technically be a rehash bc we never saw Rumple or Regina or Hook stripped away from everyone they loved in season 1. It was Emma, and Snowing and the rest of the town. So technically, it’s different.

Point is this plot point has been done to death on this show. They gave the villains their happy endings and now they see to take that away from them and destroying the last 6 years potentially. S1 they were able to get away with it because the show was starting but something like this will not go over well in S7 especially after establishing the happy endings in the S6 finale. Here’s hoping they don’t prolong this bogus curse longer than the mid-season finale because I don’t think audiences will be patient enough to stick around if it goes beyond that point. At least in regards to Hook, Regina, Rumple, and Henry being cursed.
June 2, 2017 at 10:59 am #339404thedarkonedearieParticipantSee I actually think seeing Regina and Rumple and Hook cursed away from their loved ones for a change could be fun to see….but only for a little bit. It has to be resolved by midseason.

Exactly. Seeing them all in new personas is going to be interesting, but not a whole season’s worth.

I don’t see why not as long as its interesting and keeps us captivated. I think having them in the real world is a must (the EF would get too boring after awhile) and having them cursed with new personas make it a fresh start. If they were cursed back to their normal alter egos, then its just repetitive.
Its something, guys. Gotta take what we can get at this point. I don’t think there is much this show can do anymore to liven things up.
