It didn’t appear to me that Henry left because he was upset. Looked to me like he left the scene to give Emma the camera shot. And her first reaction wasn’t where’s Henry. It was where’s Hook.
I think if Henry was upset they would have shown us that more clearly before concluding the season.[adrotate group="5"]May 12, 2014 at 10:22 am #268841SlurpeezParticipantCinders wrote: It didn’t appear to me that Henry left because he was upset. I have issues with this fact, too. Henry upped and left. He seemed upset to me. Emma got up, as if to follow Henry, but instead went to Hook. This is probably not the place for me say why I disagree with that notion, but Emma should’ve been checking up on Henry, rather than kissing a guy. This is a matter of my opinion, but I think motherhood should’ve trumped romance at that point in time.

Maybe a storyline at the beginning of the next season can be that they decide to change the baby’s name for some reason.
May 12, 2014 at 11:00 am #268864SlurpeezParticipantI’ll also add that if Snow and Charming really wanted to honor the memory of Rumple’s son, they should have named this son Baelfire, not Neal. Baelfire was Henry’s father’s proper name. Neal Cassidy was his alias.

“Here Emma! We’ve named your baby brother after the man you’ve repeatedly had sexual relations with!”
If they were so bent on doing this, they should have asked Rumple first. Because they barely knew Neal and while, yes, he was a hero to the very last, Snow and Charming have very little connection to Neal.
Neal should be Henry’s first born, NOT Snow and Charming’s son.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 12, 2014 at 11:13 am #268875lazydroidParticipantYeah, that is something I thought too, Snow and Charming only knew Neal about as much as Henry did. They really didn’t have a right to name him Neal. As you said, if anyone, it should be Emma or Henry who commemorates Neal through a baby name.
What I found strange, as much as I am a Captain Swan shipper, is that no sooner had they announced the name of the baby, had Emma moved right on with her life and from being hung up and still in love with Neal, she went straight to kissing Hook 5 minutes later.

You have to imagine they had more conversations than what was shown on screen. They had seen how big of a heart he had and how much he meant to Emma. I think it makes complete sense that they wanted to honor him by naming their son for him. Their baby was saved because of Neal’s actions. The series isn’t likely going to take us all the way into the future to when Henry has a son anyway. I think Emma was touched. I actually think Rumple was a bit too even though he may not admit it.

Actually no. If these big heart wrenching conversations are happening, they need to happen ON SCREEN. Stuff like that shouldn’t be put to the side of audience members to try and piece together in order to make a story work. You can’t just go “oh well this happened off screen so it’s totally fine” because you have no idea if it really did or not. If there was a discussion then it needed to be shown, not just fan imagined in order for things to make sense. That’s the hallmark of bad writing.

They just don’t have the time to show us everything. This is a big complicated show with so many characters and story threads and sometimes things are just implied. I felt they showed us enough for us to understand. Others disagree. It’s just a matter of interpretation.
