I saw this theory on Tumblr, and I think it’s very plausible, given what we know from 2×1 and the promos for upcoming episodes of S2:
Perhaps that “someone else” is Cora.Maybe that’s how Hook comes to SB 😮

Maybe, but you have to ask, does a wraith count as a person? Regina said it was dead?
October 2, 2012 at 4:27 pm #155127@midgemarlyParticipantI thought the rule that two go in and two go out was just for entering Wonderland specifically. No??
I recall Jefferson said that just before they stepped through the Looking Glass.October 2, 2012 at 4:33 pm #155131SlurpeezParticipantI understood the rule to apply to the hat in general, not just wonderland.

October 2, 2012 at 5:13 pm #155137@midgemarlyParticipantSlurpeez, you are right. I just rewatched that scene and the exact statement from Jefferson just before going through the mirror is: “Its important that we stick together. The same amount of people that go through have to come back. Its the Hat’s rule, not mine” and just before they were to return and Regina had her dad with her he said “You knew that only two can go through the hat!”
But it does beg the question ‘Is a wraith a ‘people’?’

It might if you count dead people….Emma and Snow could dig someone up to go with them through the hat. They could take Philip-I mean he’s right there.
October 2, 2012 at 8:24 pm #155163daybreak_fairyParticipantsteliokontos1, Surayya & AngieBelle, I was re-watching the part in s1 e21 when Regina & Jefferson talk, & Regina does know that the land still exists. They said this:
Regina: “Not a lot (magic), but hopefully enough for one last journey. Back to our land. Where there’s a solution…” (talk about Emma)
Jefferson: “… End the madness & go home.”
Regina: “To your hovel? Selling fungus at the fair?”So yeah she knows but I don’t think she knows about the condition of the land tho.
The theory about the amount of people needed to go back is interesting. If it turns out to be true, I hope Cora goes through. A mother-daughter reunion between her & Regina after so many years should be very interesting. 😛

Yeah she knows that they can go back to their land to a time where it still exists. Specifically where the apple still exists. She knows the EF is still there at that point in time but I don’t think she knew what happened to their land after the curse. Even the people that remained in the EF don’t know why they were left there! I actually think Jefferson knows more than Regina in this case. Remember Regina was truly trying to escape the wraith so she really wanted it banished to oblivion with no chance it would return now that medalion can make it’s way back not so sure she’d want that.

Ok then so it’s like this Regina comes to Jefferson for help to bring Daniel back to life he says he knows somebody who can help. He takes her to Dr. Frankenstein’s world through the hat to get him to revive Daniel. In the tent it’s Dr. Frankenstein in action demonstrating what he can do or possibly already trying to revive Daniel.
I really do not think that is Whale in either of these pictures. And these are from Ep 2. Maybe it is Regina’s father. Though it doesn’t look like her father at all to me. I think it is just a new character. Maybe he will get killed and Jefferson will get his hat.

Don’t know if I agree with that first part I think Regina really didn’t know where they went or what happened to their world. Maybe Jefferson knew that part of the EF remained but I don’t think he’d want to bring his daughter back to the wasteland maybe back to a different time within the enchanted forest? Probably not since that world would be sucked up anyway but still. In the tent it’s hard to tell with the watermark in the way but I originally thought it was someone hooking electrodes up to a body. I wouldn’t put it past Regina to have planned the whole banishing Emma and MM to the wasteland EF maybe just missed getting David too?
Umm in S01, Jefferson told Emma he wanted her to make the Hat so he could take Grace “back home” with him. That pretty much says it all to me as far as Jefferson & FTL goes 😉
No not that the part about if the EF was destroyed then it destroys it across all time and space
I probably didn’t word that very well…
To me it doesn’t add up that she wanted to go into the hat (be it to the past or not) to get magic in order to deal with Emma, IF she wasn’t sure she wasn’t now stepping into oblivion since she had already enacted the curse- for one how could the hat connect with something that no longer exists?
When she found out there wasn’t enough magic left to transport her via the Hat, Jefferson said he could pull something from it- but that wasn’t Regina’s original plan… she wanted to go INTO the Hat, she wouldn’t risk killing herself & losing Henry to Emma (so Emma & Snow winning) at that point.I also suppose it depends on your interpretation- I took it to mean their entire world (not planet) was destroyed- so nothing would be there at all aside from maybe a black hole/oblivion (she destroyed that reality/universe), which would distort the fabric of time for instance, meaning it is no longer able to be accessed in any way shape or form- past, present or future (but then I’m a science geek & could be making it WAY to real lol).
