It seems like Wonderland is a world that people don’t care for. Jefferson hated it and Rumple had no use for it. 😆
Omg, I just realized something. I’m of the belief that all the worlds got pushed together and the residents are either in Storybrooke or in what’s left of the Enchanted Forest. What if Jefferson’s wife is with the other survivors in the Enchanted Forest. All he said was he hung up his hat because Grace lost her mother. Not necessarily that she died, but lost. In shows like this, semantics are everything. Maybe she’ll show up.

Maybe she was successful in getting Jefferson to Storybrooke, but her mother somehow got to the area of Fairy Tale Land that wasn’t affected by the curse.
October 13, 2012 at 3:18 am #156504hmverhagenParticipantI thought the same thing for Jefferson’s wife.
Part of me really hopes that she is Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and that she jumped into his hat when the twister came for her. Since Oz was a dream in the original movie, they would have to find a way for Dorothy to survive being dropped hundreds of feet without dying. The hat would explain things.

I think that Cora got back to FTL by her own scheming, somehow. Just can’t see Regina wanting to bring her back, especially if Cora stole Papa Mills, and then Regina had to go back to get him. Regina wouldn’t want Cora anywhere in the world where she and her father were.

I’ve instantly fallen in love with the theory of Jefferson’s wife being Dorothy, that’s a really cool idea! Another thought on this possibility…maybe she accidentally got sucked into one of the “twisters” that’s created when his hat was activated, and for some reason he couldn’t follow or find her, so he gave the job up.

Remember in “Hat Trick” when the Queen of Hearts was so interested in how Jefferson got to Storybrooke? Remember, also, how much she wanted him to make another hat that would work? I think this is further evidence that Cora is the Queen of Hearts and she wants out of Wonderland, the “annoying little world.”
I think Jefferson may have succeeded in creating a hat that worked and that’s what Cora used to get back to Enchanted Forest either just before the curse struck, or after the curse was weakened from Emma’s arrival in Storybrooke.
Has anyone else raised this idea?
October 14, 2012 at 10:38 pm #156641midnight drearyParticipant^That…actually makes a lot of sense. Maybe she used one of Jefferson’s hats to transport herself to Storybrooke, but she accidently sent herself to post-curse Enchanted Forest instead.

Regina to Daniel:

That’s a great theory!

Yep, she had to have a reason for locking him up and making him work on a hat. Why would QoH be at all concerned with how Jefferson got there and how he could get back? Unless she’s Cora.

Thing is, I’m not sure that Jefferson actually made his hat. From Hat Trick:
Knave of Hearts: If all you require to travel to your homeland is this magic hat, then surely, you could make another.
Jefferson: I can’t. A hat without magic is just a hat. It won’t work.
Knave of Hearts: Then, there’s your task. Get it to work.
Didn’t sound to me as though he could actually create a working hat himself. Obviously he gave it a red hot go, because his life was at stake, but I don’t think he ever really had a hope of making one. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. So even though it was futile, he kept making those hats and lost his mind in the process.
I think that eventually QoH got bored of him, realised the hat was never gonna happen, let the crackpot go, and turned her attention to finding other ways instead. If they keep the events of Alice in Wonderland at some point in the show’s timeline, that means there’ll be another portal revealed, and Onceiverse Alice may not come from our world, she could just come from FTL. Maybe QoH engages in some animal testing and uses the White Rabbit to test a portal she thinks she’s found. It works, and Alice sees him and follows him back, and that’s ultimately the portal that Cora uses too.
And of course, we still have to figure in how and when Henry Sr ended up in Wonderland. If Cora was ever able to leave Wonderland, odds are she wouldn’t go back again. So I wonder if maybe Henry went looking for her and got trapped? Hmmm, new idea…maybe in a desperate attempt to find a way to save Regina’s soul, Henry goes looking for her mother, hoping she may have changed after what had happened, and may be willing and able to help. He tracks down Cora in Wonderland, and realises she hasn’t changed in the least, at lease not for the better. Cora demands that he tell her how to get back. He refuses, knowing that Regina would be in real danger if Cora could get back. Cora can’t bring herself to have is head removed, so instead she force feeds him a bottle of Wonderland’s famous “drink me” potion, then locks him up in a drawer.
See the stuff I come up with when I start theorising at 3am. 😆
