Maybe I missed something….why exactly did Hades kill Arthur anyway?
Because plot.
LOL right. Also my questions are pointless. I just don’t know why Hades did this thing. When he killed Arthur it seemed like he did it for a specific reason that would be uncovered during the episode and then…no not so much

“And I think I was destined to rule this very kingdom, right here. But…I will need your help.”
Then he kills Arthur, who goes to the Underworld, to help with a quest to kill Hades himself. Does. Not. Compute. Obviously they just needed a way to get Hook a new buddy down there, and were hoping we wouldn’t ask questions.
Anyway, considering other things that happened, I actually found the Arthur stuff to be some of the least offensive stuff in the ep. I’d rather be left to assume that he has a long and involved job ahead of him in order to earn redemption, rather than see him get to move on with the snap of the fingers because he’s insta-redeemed. I can assume that he’s learned some lessons in life, and he’ll not be such a hideous excuse for a human being from here on.
And at least now Gwen never has to deal with him ever again, and can run off and be happily loved up with Lancelot.
My only real concern about Arthur is that he might cause some grief for my dear Cruella when he tries to take over the Underworld.

In the words of some classic mafia movies….Arthur knew too much! XD

I quite liked Arthur this episode. Given Cruella’s reaction towards him when she first saw him, I don’t think Cruella would mind being Arthur’s “queen”.
As for Arthur himself, it seems the writers can’t decide whether they want Arthur to be a villain or a misguided man who did terrible things with the best of intentions and this is him starting to make up for them.
For me Arthur was preferable to Emma this episode.
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixI think when Arthur started saying how he wanted to rule this kingdom, Hades took that as a threat because that’s what he wanted. So he just killed him so he wouldn’t have to deal with it. Little did he know Arthur would go on to help Hook uncover those pages.

I could believe it as a power test — new condition, new realm, better make sure nothing else has changed — except that it would have been more dramatic if he’d said something afterwards like “Yeah [pause] still got it”.
