I tried to let this go…I really did, but I can’t. Out of everything that Adam and Eddy could have used to plot device….ANYTHING would have made more sense to me than a Gauntlet. Like really….I just can’t see how this gauntlet can lead them to their enemies weakness. I get that it was from Camelot, but Merlin had way cooler stuff than just a Gauntlet!
1. The Real Arthur Sword
2. Merlin’s Staff
3. Morgana Le Fay’s Potions
4. Anything Else Besides A Gauntlet!
This Gauntlet just seemed…it’s use I understand, it’s just the object. It just feels like Season 2’s Taser 2.0 Situation….

Well…I have a theory and in Season 5 the Once gang will team up with the Avengers to defeat Thanos!
ITS THE INFINITY GAUNTLET!
December 16, 2014 at 2:46 pm #293474PriceofMagicParticipantI wouldn’t say it’s as bad as the taser. It’s a plot device but it’s one of the less plot devicey plot devices that we’ve had on the show.
All magic comes with a price!

2. Merlin’s Staff
Come to think of it…. Cora could have had Merlin’s staff… Remmeber the staff she used to Sheila against the curse that we got no explanation for? Could be Merlin’s. Hmmm…

It had zero meaning other than plot device of the week. *rolls eyes*
When I saw a magical gauntlet, my first thought was of Torchwood’s “Risen Mitten / Resurrection Gauntlet”. Although if it were that, Rumple would surely have used it by now. He would have had to trick someone into sacrificing themselves to do it, but given what he has done with the hat, that would not be much of an obstacle. (The Torchwood gauntlet brings back the dead, by trading a life for a life, like when Neal brought back Rumple.)
But instead, it worked like Captain Jack’s compass. Which makes way more sense from a compass! And I’m sure they even have the rights to it, but they’ve already done a few magical compasses, so, I guess not. 😆
But no, it was just “plot device of the week”!

Now that would be a interesting tie in.

Yeah, highly doubt they’ll go as far as to incorporate a character that obscure, but I couldn’t help but think of him.

Nope, I googled that the other day to see, but the only magical gauntlets I came up with was Thor’s gauntlets that he has to wear in order to wield his hammer. Which might actually make sense in the context of us knowing Rumple also has Thor’s hammer. But the (singular) gauntlet in show has a totally different power to Thor’s gauntlet(s).

I remember dragging myself outta bed on Saturday mornings to watch that Aladdin show, always hoping it’d be a Mozenrath ep so I could hear that voice.
