I’ve noticed a couple members (and myself) have not been able to update or add a signature in the last week or two. It’s been a couple days for me, but I remember getting an error message stating that my dimension/sizing were not correct. If anyone can cite a more accurate error message please share.

I got something along the same lines a couple of weeks ago…a dimension/sizing error on both my new banner and the one I had previously used that I tried to re-load after I couldn’t load my new one.

I have the same problem and I know that I have read a few others have. I don’t know what the problem could be, but I am anxious for an answer. This has been seriously annoying me because at first I thought it was something I did wrong. 😆

The big signature banners / flashing gifs take up a lot of bandwidth for the server. They also tend to be annoying when you are trying to read a post and the signatures take more room then the post. I personally find the flashing gifts annoying as they give me a headache.

I wholeheartedly agree! Animated gifs are like the same joke told over and over and over and over…

I like that people enjoy the show and want to express their enthusiasm. Big banners and animations just make me end up resenting scenes that I might otherwise enjoy.

If this is addressing my banner – I was trying to size back but can’t get the smaller file to save. Hence this thread. Really is wonderful to hear the negativity over something I’m trying to fix but am not able. *thumbs up*

Red, nobody is being hostile to you or to anyone else. In a thread about banners, we’re discussing banners, and from what you’ve written it seems we have a similar concern about banner size. Even if we disagree, that’s all it is, not an attack.

Lil’Red – hope the issue is fixed soon so you can change what you want to change.

In general: I’m with Nonnie and Gaultheria if it comes to banner size, but I know other people don’t mind as much. Maybe I wouldn’t either but a bit of moderation experience in forums and in webdesign and usability issues has given me a different view on such things. Smaller and let’s say low key banners keep the attention on what someone has to say in the their postings, it’s nicer for server bandwidth and we should always consider, that people have different kind of access to the web, huge banners and pictures make page loading time for a few still a pain.

    ¯\_(?????? ?)_/¯

Oh so it’s a recent problem… Phew, I am not an idiot… I wanted to make that Golddigger, Hooker comment into a banner, I made it SMALL… and then I found out I couldn’t post it. I even tried adding dimensions, but that didn’t work (not sure I did it right either)

I tried making my banner as small as possible and regardless it doesn’t post it in the signature. I personally like that everyone wants to express their love of the show- bandwidth aside. I am totally digging EVERYONE’s fan art… maybe we should make a thread to share just our fan art- all of it- regardless of who we love and root for?!
