Episode 3.06 of Once Upon a Time will see the introduction of the recurring role of “Prince Eric”.
A few observations here:
- So um, Eric is a separate character.
- Adam and Eddie have no intention on messing with The Little Mermaid lore.
- Ariel will not be ending up with Captain Hook since Prince Eric is in the picture.

Interesting this is straight up recurring, but Ariel they played down as “at least 2 episodes”.
Hookriel does seem less likely unless they’re twisting it.
I’d also say that Papa Eric and Mama Ariel to Hook is less likely too.If they’re going to do their story on a bigger scale it would happen in the present I think.

I’m really glad that Eric is his own person! I sorta want him to be Ariel’s true love.

Ok, SB mirror is speculating a lot there given that the original spoiler just says that the role of Eric is being cast. We don’t know when he is appearing of how. We don’t know that A and E have no intention of messing with TLM lore given that Disney messes with it BIG TIME. That’s the problem. The original story is VERY different.

I made an OUAT Ariel season 3 roundup post on my tumblr to keep track of spoilers
It seems my ships are never coming true. First, Meghan ended up leaving the show to film Intelligence and therefore Whale/Ruby is less likely. Then, the role of Prince Eric is cast therefore Hook will not take the role of Prince Eric on Once Upon a Time.
Oh well, at least this kinda confirms that Ariel won’t be in just 2 episodes due the fact that Prince Eric will be recurring and it is kinda hard to imagine that Prince Eric is recurring and Ariel is not. It’s like if Prince Phillip is recurring and Aurora is not.
