Not sure of the ship name yet but after seeing this episode I both liked the idea and am a little confused as to the timeline here. Was Regina suppose to meet Robin before Maid Marian? With them being separated by worlds I don’t think a meeting is in their near future but I sure hope I’m wrong.

I believe it was before Marian. Not sure how they meet but I think they will!

As if Henry wasn’t lucky enough He possibly could even have Robin Hood as his step father too?! So cool!

Since Regina was a young bride I would say that it was before he met Marian. Or he could have been courting her at that time. We don’t really know how long he was with her. But it was definitely years before Roland was conceived and born.
As for how their lives would have been if she walked through that door, I would say we’ll never know. It wasn’t the right time or place. Everything happens for a reason and there was a reason why Regina couldn’t walk through that door. Would they really have a had a happy life? He’s an outlaw and she’s married to the King. Doesn’t sound so romantic in those terms. But now both of them are unencumbered so I think there is a chance to make a go of it.
Since we know Robin is coming back for two more episodes and greater role in the second half of the season I think they’ll definitely meet. I imagine Regina will be gobsmacked as she incidentally sees the lion tattoo on his arm. She wasn’t ready then, but will she be ready now? She’s concentrated on Henry so I think she might be intrigued but leery. And Robin has no idea about any of this. I wonder how he’ll react to Regina.
It will be an interesting courtship.

So much potential and he should be a fairly important character down the line to be paired with one of the leads so we should get lots more of him! Looking forward to it.
Loving the idea of these two together so can’t wait to see them actually sharing space (and not just peeking through windows)! I think Robin can handle Regina for sure! (Also, lots of Rs apparently: Robin Hood, Regina, and Roland).
Also really love the little touches like his lion shield tattoo. If I’m not mistaken, Robin Hood is usually associated with King Richard who was known as King Richard the Lionheart. According to wiki: “The lion is a common charge in heraldry. It traditionally symbolizes bravery, valor, strength, and royalty, since traditionally, it is regarded as the king of beasts.”
(For those wondering, heraldry deals with family crests, shields, etc). So it actually sounds like a really good match for Regina, especially since he’s the least likely of anyone we know to have any actual grievances against her already since he was never in SB or met her in the EF. Can’t wait!
I’ve seen many names for this ship and new ones keep popping up now that it’s canon and people have reason to put these two together even though they haven’t shared screentime. RegalArrow, RegalHood, OutlawQueen (popped up tonight and I gotta say, even though I’ve heard the others more, I kinda like the sound of that last one!) and goodness knows what else.
Either way, they’re canon! As sad as it can be for the fun headcanons, we at least have some answers which is nice moving forward. I’ll take answers over false hope any day of the week, even if they are depressing at times (in this case, my world wasn’t shattered and I actually like the idea of them together so am looking forward to it, but I know many are upset right now as well. We’ll just have to wait and see it play out. Bet they make us love it! *Gives cookies* in honor of fallen ships*).

Oh you’re late to the party, folks have been shipping RegalHood for some time already, (pretty much from the time Robin was re-cast), so welcome aboard. 😉 The crackship is finally, officially setting sail!
I like that they’ve given them this (almost)history together to build on into the future. Really looking forward to how this relationship develops and how they eventually meet up!
October 14, 2013 at 1:33 am #215689kfchimeraParticipantWe have a thread for this one already, somewhere, WickedRegal made sure of that ! A long time ago (but not once upon a time ago) we had a thread of suggestions for Regina’s next love in terms of new characters and Robin Hood was a popular one, but then they cast him and Marian and we all thought there goes that. Then they recast him, and we got spoilers, so I’ve been on board this idea for a bit, even though yes it messes up Disney /Classic version continuity with Marian but I’m not a stickler for that. The original versions exist so OUAT is the mashing machine, so I say, bring it on. Its not as if we really met Marian (and even then I might be ok depending on how they handled it).
I agree MysteryKat–the idea of Henry having a step-brother is awesome, as is in a way, a second chance for Regina to be an Awesome Step-Mom instead of an evil one.
What’s even better though is we get our insatiable curiosity about her next love resolved now, but Regina is still given time to grow into the person that he could love again. I feel she has a rough road but she will get there and she is trying to be better and cleanse that Dark Heart.

The stories we’re usually told end with a wedding usually. We don’t normally know what happens after characters ride off into the sunset together.
As far as being a stickler for it, I’m of the opinion that if both are in existence within the show and both are alive, then I would prefer them to stick to canon and keep them together. In this particular case, as much as I love Robin Hood & Maid Marian, they have already played out the typical story we know and love, and she has since died, leaving him with a young son to care for. So I’m actually ok with them breaking it as we haven’t had any time really to be invested in her in the first place, and it sets up some amazing stuff down the road.
So even though we didn’t really get to see it, Robin Hood & Marian had their time and played out their traditional story. So far we’ve only really seen that of Snowing and Philora, whereas RumBelle is still somewhere in the middle of things. So ones that we’ve seen through their usual stories kind of have free reign for what happens once the movie ends and they’re happily together, which does (sadly) include killing one of them off and letting the other find another person to love.
If I’m not mistaken, Marian has been killed off in at least one other version of Robin Hood’s story so it’s also not entirely out of the realm of possibility. In fact I think I’ve seen it a couple of times, and at least one where a child is left behind for him to raise on his own (the one that springs to mind is Princess of Thieves with Keira Knightley). So I’m actually really looking forward to seeing more on him and Roland, and watching him and Regina fall in love. It’ll be a love story that we can watch unfold rather than just be told about it in flashbacks and it gives a character who usually doesn’t even have a love interest, a chance at finding happiness and letting go of her darkness which is cool.
Can’t wait for Henry to get to spend time with Roland though. I bet they’ll be super adorable!
