So in the promo (It’s on the other thread) Regina says that she can slow down the fail safe. Than you see her not being able to contain it.She is risking her life, becaue even if she slows it down long enough for others to get to safety, she will still be in harms way. Do you think this self sacerfice will change her heart? We know from spoilers shedoesn't die since she goes on the Jolly boat(or whatever it’s called.)

We do see her get on the Jolly Roger in spoilers so something's gotta give somewhere. I wonder if there's someone else who could take her place and give her time to get out? And if so, who would do that? This is the 2nd time we've seen her take on massive amounts of power to try to save people for Henry's sake whether she likes it or not but I don't see how we're going from everything is basically destroyed to hopping on the boat.
As to whether it changes her it could, maybe, in a small way. She already saved Emma and Snow but that didn’t get her anywhere the last time. If for Henry’s sake she’d probably do it to try to save the ones he loves yet again but I doubt she’d be happy about it. I think she’s probably still in shock that Snow & Charming saved her and Charming even called her family. Perhaps a truce of some kind will come into play, for Henry’s benefit at least, to join up against the bigger threat. Whether she finds a way to stick with them in the future who knows. Probably depends on just what they’re up against and how badly things are going. After all, the dysfunctional sort of family member enemy of my enemy is my friend right? 😉
Spoilers also show pics of Greg & Tamara kidnapping Henry I think, so that may also come into play. I still don't see how the failsafe is connected to them all safely getting on the boat when clearly in the promos it's enacted and Regina is having issues controlling it.
Looking forward to seeing how everything ties together cause right now we have a lot of dots and very little connecting devices as of yet.

In the promo thread, I posted my theory about how I think Emma’s magic could potentially be strong enough to reverse the effects of the failsafe, even after it’s triggered.

She was able to shove Cora away but not able to securely lock down a protection spell on Gold’s pawn shop or stop what happened tonight from happening so her magic could definitely use some work and saving SB would be a good spot for that to happen!

May 6, 2013 at 3:48 am #191362HappyEndingsSpectatorDoesn’t it seem lately that we are getting a lot of new threads that maybe we don’t need, I think we all get excite including me and don’t realize where we should post something instead of reading the threads already posted and of course some are several pages but that is just some good reading though imo;)
May 6, 2013 at 4:03 am #191372sacrlcParticipantI’ve already posted this in “TVLine OUAT Spoilers 221/222!”, but it didn’t show up in active threads. So I apologize I’m posting this again but I believe it really belongs here anyway.
In a TV Guide article, there is a photo showing everyone in the tunnel, including Henry. In a promo, it showed Regina trying to contain the “fail-safe” but probably only delaying it, allowing time for GOAT to escape and take Henry.
I believe they took Henry because he probably said when he found out the “fail-safe” would wipe out StoryBrooke that he wanted magic destroyed, not really understanding the ramifications of doing so. He was saying it through an 11 year olds eyes and emotions while watching magic causing great harm, like he did when he tried to blow up the well with dynamite earlier in the season.
Yet in spite of this, he shows his interest in magic while watching Regina creating the sleeping curse for David. I don’t think he really wants magic to disappear, he just wants it not used to cause “evil”.
However, in the mine GOAT misreads his outburst thinking he is one of them when he really isn’t, so they “rescue” him by taking him along. In taking Henry, there is also probably a little revenge on Owen/Greg’s part for Regina killing his dad.
Don't grow up. It's a trap.
May 6, 2013 at 4:08 am #191377MysteryKat25ParticipantI like that idea sacric! It would make total sense that he would mistakenly agree with them for a moment and then try to fight to get away later.
The only problem I have with this is wouldn’t Henry know not to trust them based on the events from tonight? I would think Emma would have to tell him what happened to NealFire but perhaps at that moment hadn’t gotten a chance to in all the excitement and pulled a classic Charming family move of we’ll talk about it later (I could totally see Henry going around trying to find NealFire and wondering where he is but Emma having bigger things to deal with). Granted she told him about Archie which at the time was pretty much equally devastating and thank goodness untrue.
Basically I’m torn but I like the line of thinking!

Thanks! I really don’t want the town to be destroyed. As both the Savior and True Love incarnate, Emma has the most powerful love of all inside of her. So, if anyone can save SB, or at least its inhabitants, I’m betting on Emma.

Makes perfect sense to me! I love Storybrooke and there are lots of sentimental favorite spots in that town that it would be a tragedy to lose. If anybody’s capable it’s gotta be Emma. In fact the ONLY reason I’d be ok with it being destroyed would be that we would be getting more things on green screen which means less spoilers available. I gave up trying to avoid stuff this season because people just kept saying things WEEKS in advance and I couldn’t get away from it unless I avoided the fandom altogether. I’d rather everybody be surprised and able to theorize all on the same level than hear for weeks on end how predictable the show is (which it isn’t to the casual viewer, just to those of us that spend hours on it!)
And yes I know some live off of spoilers and I admit freely that I struggle with it cause if it’s out there, I want to click and get info ASAP, but some stuff is taken way out of context, blown out of proportion, and there is just TOO much of it (their department hasn’t learned the difference between “tease” and “spoil” yet). Basically I wouldn’t mind it if there was some stuff still out there but significantly cut down which would happen if they’re not out on the streets being watched all the time.
I really do love Storybrooke though so I would hate to see it gone. Perhaps Emma will save it and then the core gang can go off to chase GOAT and save Henry

May 6, 2013 at 5:48 am #191416Reginastwin3ParticipantI think it will devaste Henery to find out his mom (Regina) might die by delaying the fail safe after hearing about his dad. In the promo he ask Emma “Where’s my mom?” They all look at him sad…poor guy, he may run off to rescue her in the mines only to be confroted with GOAT and taken to NL. Than Emma will intervene and stop the fail safe with her magic and her and Regina and the Charmings will chase after Henery and GOAT…I think that is what wil happen.
