I don’t know how significant any of this is, but I noticed that when Evil Queen Regina goes to the Hatter’s home her necklace is the round metal piece, which is what she wore when first seeking out the Huntsman. The door to the vault with her hearts has the same pattern as the Queen of Hearts vault in her labyrinth, and it’s the same pattern to Mayor Regina’s Father’s crypt. The wall lockers holding the cases for the EQ’s hearts, Mayor Regina’s hearts, and the Queen of Hearts’ vault are all labeled with, ‘XC’.
Are the heart boxes reserved for specific people? The box EQ Regina had for Snow White’s heart is different from the box she used for the Huntsman.[adrotate group="5"]March 29, 2012 at 10:18 pm #140306theoniongirlParticipantI do wonder if the PTB are canny enough to try to throw us all off the scent by having someone else planning the Queen of Hearts in this episode (since it's not like you see much of her, anyway) … even if it really is Regina's mother. The thing I keep coming back to is that Cora reminds me very much of coeur (heart in French) or corazon (heart in Spanish). or cuore (heart in Italian) …

It might be Jefferson’s wife, but that’s a stretch since there was zero reaction from her when she whispered “…off with his head” (when Jefferson was standing before her.)
I do believe Jefferson’s wife got stuck in Wonderland, and that’s why Jefferson was so reluctant to go back.
I’m really liking what Crabtrem is saying. (The heart vaults are all the same between the worlds.)

In the Through the Looking Glass Alice becomes Queen for a while. I still don’t think Grace will be Alice and even though I like Emma being a kind of Alice, it would be cool to have the character on the show. This theory works with Alice being Jeff’s wife or not. The timeline of the original story (the books) doesn’t necesseraly have to be the same on the show (it’s Kitsis and Horowitz after all).My thought is, considering the fact Alice became a temporary Queen in one of the books, that she became the Queen of Hearts.
Now, I can’t think of anything really supporting this theory, but I think it would be great twist on the story. 😈

But then why didn’t he show any sign of wanting to go look for her if she was just trapped there? Or if she died there, why wasn’t he more torn over going back to the place he lost her? To me, his line about hating Wonderland was more of an exasperated, “I hate having to deal with the annoying creatures in this ridiculous place,” as opposed to a dislike for a place where he suffered a traumatic event like losing his wife.

Good question. Were we ever given a hint for how long his wife was “gone”? Was it years? Or weeks? If it was years, then maybe he did go back years ago but couldn’t find her. The conversation between Jefferson and the EQ hinted that Jefferson had a past when he wasn’t so poor (in FTL.) Also, I noticed a lot of comments that claim Jefferson was some kind of Magician or Sorcerror or something. Where did that come from? Just because he had a magic hat…so what? His comment to Regina: “…not my rules, the Hat’s rules” suggested to me he didn’t create the hat.

I agree completely. I also had the same notion. I didn’t suggest his wife died, just that she got lost or stuck in Wonderland years ago, and therefore Jefferson was hesitant about going back.

How about the Queen of Hearts being Regina’s older sister? Regina would never be able to be a queen because her older sister would inherit the title first. Regina would have to be married into a different kingdom / regime.
Just a thought.

And that’s exactly the story you’re going to see next week in the episode Stable Boy! (Minus Regina having an older sister.)

Either that or she is trapped in a world that he can no longer visit. I don’t think that she was lost in Wonderland is all.
March 30, 2012 at 8:01 pm #140427lovesmurfsParticipantJust rewatched the episode — I really think that the Queen of Hearts is Regina’s sister. In Wonderland, Regina made several catty remarks that seemed to be addressed to a family member. It’s almost like Regina’s in her shadow — while the QoH is all in red, Regina’s always in black.
Then again, Jefferson was in Wonderland when the curse hit. He belongs in FTL, so he was sent to Storybrooke. If the QoH is related to Regina, wouldn’t she also belong in FTL and then be affected by the curse and sent to Storybrooke, too?
