Male Emma: Emmet
Swan Queens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
(Regina opens the door to see Henry and Emmett outside. Henry runs into the house, Regina glares at him, before turning to smile at Emmett)Regina: Thank you.
Emmett: No problem.
Regina: He seems to have taken qute a shine into you.
Emmett: (Laughs) You know it’s kinda crazy, yesterday was my birthday, and when I blew out the candle on this cupcake I bought myself. I actually made a wish, that I wouldn’t have to be alone for my birthday, and Henry showed up-
Regina: I hope there’s no misunderstanding here.
Emmett: I’m sorry-
Regina: I mean, don’t mistake all of this as invitation back into his life, Mr. Swan, you made a decision ten years ago, and in the last decade while you’ve been, who knows what you’ve been doing. I’ve changed every diaper, soothed every fever, endured every tantrum, I may have gotten artificially insimintated with your seed, but he is my son!
Emmett: I was not-
Regina: No! You don’t get to speak, you don’t get to do anything! You gave up that right when you sold your seed away! Do you know what a closed Artifical Insimination is, it’s what you asked for, you have no legal right to Henry, and you’re gonna be held to that! So I suggest you get in your car, and you leave this town, because if you don’t! I will destroy you if it is the last thing i do! Goodbye, Mr. Swan.
(Regina starts to walk away.)
Emmett: Do you love him?
(Regina turns around.)
Regina: Excuse me?
Emmett: Our son, do you love him?
Regina: Of course I love him. He’s my son.
(Regina rolls her eyes before slamming the door)
Ep. 2
(Regina is doing her work, when she hears a chainsaw! She jumps up, and looks outside to see Emmett cutting a branch off her apple tree, He looks up, and smiles at her! Regina rushes outside, marching toward him.)
Regina: What the hell are you doing!?
Emmett: Picking apples, milady.
Regina: You’re out of your mind!
Emmett: No, you are if you think a snotty frame job is enough to scare me off! You’re gonna have to do better than that! You come after me again, I’m coming back for the rest of this tree. Because, lady, you have no idea what i’m capable of.
(Emmett walks off, as Regina fumes)
Emmett: Your move!
Ep. 22
(Regina walks in, toward Henry’s bed)
Regina: Where’s my son!
(Emmett glares angrily)
Emmett: You did this.
(Emmett grabs Regina, and walks into a closet, throwing her roughly inside into the cabinets.)
Emmett: You did this!
Regina: What the hell are you doing!
(Emmett grabs Regina, and slams her against the door trapping her arms above her head leaning close to her face.)
Regina: Stop, that’s my son!
Emmett: It’s because of you! That apple turnover you gave me, he ate it!
Regina: What, it was meant for you!
Emmett: It’s true isn’t it!
Regina: What are you talking about?
(Emmett tightens his grip.)
Emmett: It’s true isn’t it! All of it!
(Regina sighs before resting her head on the door, and nods.)
Regina: Yes!
Emmett: I was leaving town, how come you couldn’t leave things alone!
Regina: Because as long as you’re alive, Henry will never be mine!
Emmett: He will never be anyone’s unless you fix this, you wake him up!
Regina: I can’t!
Emmett: Don’t you have magic?
Regina: That was the last of it.[adrotate group="5"]"If you go as far as you can see...you will then see enough to go even further." - Finn Balor

September 3, 2012 at 9:33 pm #153526elleParticipantWhether Regina loves Henry or nor should not only be the issue–is she a good mother, and the answer to that (in my opinion) is no. As much as she may or may not live him, she has tried repeatedly to kill or create misery for his grandparents. She killed his great-grandfather–he did not love her, but still. She tried to get rid of Emma with the sleeping curse, and she caused him to feel guilt for Graham’s death.
September 4, 2012 at 1:24 am #153528hjbauParticipantI always think about the real fear that Henry must have been living in. He seems to really believe that Regina was trying to kill Emma. After the huntsman dies, Emma says that Henry has been ducking him for weeks and Henry talks about being afraid that Emma would be killed. And then right before Henry eats the turnover, he says it again, yes but she wants you dead. I mean i just think about that. Think about as a child, living in that sort of fear, that your adoptive mother may really murder your birth mother, a person you care about. And that the threat is real.
And Regina knows that she is making him feel like this. I do not see care in Regina’s actions at all. It is actually a rather horrifying situation. And Emma may not believe, but Henry really believes it, and is right. Emma is actually in that sort of danger.
September 28, 2012 at 10:52 am #154633SlurpeezParticipantLana Parrilla gave an interesting answer to how Regina and Henry will deal with their relationship in S2. It’s interesting to get her take on Regina’s role as a mother. Minor spoilers ahead.
Q: Can you give us a few plot secrets from the new season? When we last left Regina, the evil curse on the town of Storybrook had been lifted. And the entire town was pretty peeved with your Evil Queen who started the curse. Your adopted son Henry was also ready to bolt your home.
A: “The townspeople pretty ticked at Regina. They're after her. It's endless. They were actually after her in fairy tale land and now she's dealing with it again. There is a good reason for this. This season is really about her dealing with the townspeople and her power struggle with Mr. Gold. We also really focus on her relationship with her son Henry. It's redemption time…. Henry hasn't written her off. He is struggling because it's about what his mom has done to everyone, but what she has done to him. He feels betrayal from her. She led the entire town to think that he was crazy and that he needed therapy. Any parent who lets everyone think their child is crazy knows this is one of the worst thing you could do to a child.”

Lana also said something interesting in the new episode of the official video podcast. She said something about Regina not really realising how much she loves him untill he dies. That makes sense to me because she always seemed rather cold and distant. So it’s hole that creating the curse has made in her and also because she may not realise how much she loves him.September 30, 2012 at 2:25 pm #154722SlurpeezParticipantLana Parrilla plays the part so well, and I think she gets the psychology of Regina spot on, as well. I think she is being more candid in her interviews now that we’ve all seen all of S1. It makes total sense for Lana to say that Regina didn’t fully appreciate what she had with Henry until it was too late, and it was her fault moreover for trying to destroy Emma, and yet Henry took the fall.
Here is another snippet from an interview that Lana did, which I think delves even more into her understanding of Regina in S2:
The Evil Queen has a lot of conflict going forward, I’m guessing, after the end of last season, especially the loss of Henry. But also her relationship with Rumple, of course. And the fact that Belle is now out of the prison the Queen constructed. How are some of those conflicts going to unfold on an emotional level for your character?
On an emotional level, which is always where I love to speak from anyway, so that's perfect…
Thank you.
My character, she's lost everything. She's lost everything. She's lost her power, and she's lost her son. She has nothing left, and that's a really, really hard reality for her. Because here's a woman who has been in control of everyone and everything apart from Rumple, Mr. Gold, for 28 years, if not more. It's quite a jarring experience for her. I would say the biggest loss is Henry. Not so much the curse. I feel like curses can fail; curses can be lifted; spells could not work, and the Evil Queen can deal with that. She can just always find another way. But losing Henry, that was something she—I don't think she was anticipating. It was happening and it was something she feared. But she literally pushed him away. She did, unbeknownst to her—her controlling nature, her obsession. Also she was very—she was a bit too stern with him. She didn't listen to him. I think that that just inch by inch started pushing him out the door, and now she's fully lost him. I think that that alone has broken her. And in this season what we'll see—we started our sixth episode right now, so a good portion of fifth for a second season, we're going to see her trying to redeem herself. http://blogcritics.org/video/article/a-conversation-with-jane-espenson-part/I love Lana as an actress, and I think the plays the “pathos” of the Evil Queen so perfectly, and yet I’m also excited to see Regina potentially see the error of her ways and strive to become a better mom.
Also, Eddy and Adam gave an interview in which they spoke about the theme of redemption being important for everyone in S2, including Regina.
TVLINE | Which existing character would will surprise us most this season?
KITSIS | I would say Regina. Last year, all we ever showed her was making the wrong decision. Her father said, “Once you go down the revenge path you’ll never go back,” and she did it anyway, and she killed her father. She was told the curse will create a hole in her heart that can’t be filled, and she says voids can always be filled. And yet in the finale, she is faced with saving her son Henry or saving the curse, and she chose Henry and lost everything. So what happens now to Regina? Will this be a second chance? Will she redeem herself? Or will she revert to being the Evil Queen? And now, by the way, she doesn’t have to keep lying — I’m the Evil Queen, that’s right. And this is how it goes. The audience will be surprised by how she handles all this.
http://tvline.com/2012/09/29/once-upon-a-time-season-2-fall-tv-preview/#utm_source=copypaste&utm_campaign=referralBasically, due to the curse, Regina had a hole in her heart that she was never able to fill, even with her adopted son. When the curse was broken by Emma, suddenly Regina no longer had this void, and she was free to love her son, Henry, completely for the first time. She actually sounded believable when she said she loved Henry in the season 1 finale. She wasn’t exactly mother-of-the-year material, but at least she did make the right choice for once in helping Emma save Henry over the curse.

September 30, 2012 at 4:08 pm #154727theladybelleParticipantPersonally, I really want Regina redeemed and see her develope a proper relationship with Henry. I think he is a little unfair to her because he doesn’t understand what’s behind everything she’s done. Of course, she’s not excused and I think she still has to pay a price for what’s she’s done. But Henry doesn’t know the pain and suffering she’s endured. The path to redemption surely won’t be easy, and Regina just cannot redeem herself from this moment to the next.
September 30, 2012 at 4:43 pm #154730SlurpeezParticipant@TheLadyBelle: I also want to see Regina redeemed, but like you, I think it’s going to be a long and winding road. Also, I think I found the clip of that interview you referenced. Is it called “Magic is Back.” Do you have a link for it? I couldn’t find a direct URL (it was embedded) but I did transcribe what Lana Parrilla had to say.
“Regina’s love for Henry is quite unique, and rare for her. There’s only one person she’s truly loved, and for her that was Daniel. And she’s always been trying to fill that void, and I think that in that season finale in losing Henry, that void had been filled in loving him and also being receptive of his love. And I don’t think she was quite aware of that until he was lying in that hospital bed and took that last breath.”
