I want to see Regina be redeemed, but i think she should be locked up forever.

Regina, Regina. I thought she’d progressed, but if it hadn’t been for Henry, she’d have killed his grandpa. Yes, she should only be allowed visitation rights from behind enchanted bars that keep her from using magic.

I really think that is right, but sadly unlikely to happen. Regina is dangerous and has no business being around a child.

I’m so happy to see Regina’s character development in 2×2. Despite resorting to magic, she realized she’d basically just become her mother by keeping Henry a prisoner in his own home. The fact that she said, “I don’t know how to love very well. I wasn’t capable of it for a very long time,” shows that she is now capable of it once more. She even said, “I want to redeem myself.” I think she very much wants to do that, and she’ll try really hard. I just fear that she might stumble again, since she didn’t burn the book of spell, but simply locked it away in the cupboard.

I think the very long time possibly goes beyond the curse and extends to her marriage to Leopold. She wasn’t able to properly grieve for Daniel, she had to keep up the charade that he ran away for Snow. Her day dream about killing Snow was interesting. Obviously the thought crossed her mind but she was disturbed by it. I wonder what tips her over the edge from being disturbed by the thought of killing Snow to outright trying to murder her.

She even said, “I want to redeem myself.” I think she very much wants to do that, and she’ll try really hard. I just fear that she might stumble again, since she didn’t burn the book of spell, but simply locked it away in the cupboard.

Perhaps she kept the book as a just in case scenario. She wants to give up magic for Henry but she knows the book is there just in case she does want to use it. Perhaps that may be the cause of what sends her back to using magic, if the book is discovered and nobody believes her that she isn’t using magic, she may decide that she may as well use magic since that’s what people believe of her anyway.

All magic comes with a price!

I’m a little late since I just found this thread, but Arjay369 said in this thread a while back,

Is it too early to ask for “Once Upon a Time and Philosophy”?

I would have to reply that, given the heavy use of flashbacks in this show, we should consider the philosophy of Kierkegaard since he observed that “Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.”
