Regina as Ursula?

Remember last season when Regina mentioned a “certain mermaid” to Rumpel? Obviously this was a reference to Ariel, which begs the question if Regina will take the part of the witch in her story just as Rumpel took the part of the beast in Belle’s.

Now dont get me wrong, I adore Regina absolutely but I don’t really wish to see her in the place of Ursula. I saw an interview where Lana asked Adam if she could be Ursula but I really hope not. I think that character is on another level than Regina is with possibly a really interesting backstory That I’d love to see. Maybe her and Regina could be cohorts but not one in the same.

Does anyone else think Regina will turn out to be the sea witch?

Nah, I think the squid ink mention means that Ursula will be a real squid, well half-squid.

The “certain mermaid” could or could not be a direct reference to Ariel. Ariel is not the only mermaid in existence and with mermaids in Neverland I think it’s a pretty good bet that Ariel is going to show up in NL instead of the EF.

I don’t want Regina to be Ursula but I wouldn’t mind if she had some involvement with Ursula in order to ensnare Ariel.

Since Ursula wouldn’t really have much contact with humans except perhaps Regina, what if, when Ursula transforms into a human to prevent Ariel from getting her kiss, she transforms into Regina? That way Lana could be Ursula without actually being Ursula.

In the movie Ursula really is half-squid, as in she only has six tentacles (it was a way to cut animation cost). Most people think shes half octopus. When Rumpel first mentioned a squid my first thought was automatically that darn sea witch 😆

I think she goes with the Charming family with Cook but could be wrong or she can use a Bean or the Hat that Emma left in her car.

Sure, but mermaids may not only be in NL. They could be in both places. She doesn’t have to travel to NL to deal with mermaids.

Also, it was speculated some time ago, I think by Phee, that the ocean could lead to many different lands. So the Merkindgom could be spread out over many lands accessible through swimming.

There is also the possibility that Rumple takes on the role of Ursula, which is why Regina went to ask Rumple about the mermaid. Both Rumple and Ursula have a love for deals (they both make people sign contracts at some point), and often they know more about the deals they are making than the other people involved. Additionally, ‘Desperate Souls’ sounds a lot like ‘Poor, Unfortunate Souls.” And finally Rumple said that the squid ink was found at the bottom of the ocean and you could not get it unless you were a mermaid or ‘ME’. Which suggests he has been to the bottom of the ocean, and thus could be more plausible to take on the role of Ursula.
