ParticipantTruely a great episode, we learned so much. Regina knew (for how long?) that Emma is Snow’s daughter.

ParticipantI was surprised at that, also. Plus, I didn’t remember that Regina even knew about the savior breaking the curse. When did she get told that bit of information. I remember Rumple telling them in the dungeon about the out-clause, but I don’t remember Regina being informed of it.
I really hope the replay the entire season starting with the pilot after the season finale. I have most of them taped, but I’m missing the first few episodes. I really need to rewatch that pilot.

ParticipantI was honestly expecting her to figure it out in the finale. Maybe she realized it as things started changing?

ParticipantI would say Regina figured it out when she learned Gold had his memories in “Skin Deep” based on their previous conversation in “The Thing You Love Most”.

From “The Thing You Love Most”…
Regina: What did you tell them?
Rumple: The truth. That nothing can stop the darkness! Except of course their unborn child. You see, no matter how powerful, all curses can be broken. Their child is the key.And at the end of the ep at the apple tree, Mr Gold says to her, “I would say you think you know exactly who she is.” So while it hasn’t been explicitly stated until now that she’s figured it out, it was implied way back when that she suspected it.

ParticipantIt is weird that they just made it so Regina knows after all this time. There was the whole plot where they burned the pages so that Regina wouldn’t know and now it is just that Regina has known all along.

ParticipantOhh, I completely forgot about that scene in “The Thing You Love Most.” Another episode I don’t have recorded, probably why I forgot it.
As for ripping out the end of the storybook, they don’t know she knows. Of course, Emma doesn’t know anything, or rather doesn’t want to know. I think she is believing, but is scared to death to have some form of responsibility placed on her. That girl is almost more screwed up than Regina.

ParticipantPoor Emma, she has had such a horrible 28 years. You almost hope they do a reboot at/near the series end and allow her to grow up from birth with Snow and Prince Charming as parents in FTL. 🙁

ParticipantI don’t get how “rebooting” at the series end would allow Emma to grow up from birth with Snow White and Price Charming as parents in FTL. I doubt breaking the curse would somehow magically restart time and change it. That just doesn’t make any sense.
In all likelihood, I agree with Phee that Regina has suspected ever since episode 2 who Emma really is. She accused Mr. Gold of intentionally bringing Henry to her so that Emma would come to SB. Also, Mr. Gold said that Regina probably knew exactly who Emma really is. I think that Regina has sort of hoped that Emma would continue to disbelieve in the curse. The fact that Regina believes Mr. Gold when he says that killing Emma would break the dark curse is the real reason Emma is still alive. Regina wants to keep her power and curse in tact, which is why she hasn’t killed Emma. Yet, she sees that the curse has been weakening ever since Emma showed up in SB. We saw in episode 21 that Regina when to great lengths to retrieve the magic apple to put Emma into a deep sleep rather than kill her.

ParticipantHaving Regina just say it though like that. That she has known all along. That is the sort of thing that makes me think the writers are flying by the seat of their pants. If Regina has always known then why hide that information from the audience and then just throw it out there as if it was always known?
