Regina’s powers

The last episode seemed to be a lot about Regina’s powers, or lack of them, and what she is like when they are removed. She was certainly more vulnerable without them leading her to bond with Snow, so now her powers are gone again will we see her finally redeem at last? And are her powers gone for good? I’m still not sure on how that leather strap thing works! Has it totally removed her powers? Can she ever get them back? And what about that spell book of her mothers she hid, does she still have that? I personally would like to see her get her powers back just so she can give GOAT what they deserve!

Well we know she has the spellbook because she took it out from her purse when she wiped Henry’s memories. I wonder if Greg/Tamara find that and destroy it.
I get the feeling Regina will be powerless for the rest of the season. Maybe the effects of the cuff wear off as time passes if she can get it off and she’ll regain her powers. But right now, I think she’s going to be powerless for the rest of S2.

I would actually like if she stays powerless longer (passed the finale). Maybe that way she can learn to be a better person. Sometimes, when people are so addicted to things (like magic), you have to go cold turkey in order to get better.

It might go the other way; she could become much more dangerous without magic. People hated the Evil Queen, but they feared Mayor Mills.

I forgot she used the book to wipe Henry’s memories… don’t know if she can still use the book now her powers have been taken. She could become more dangerous without magic and and she seems more inclined to use technology than magic anyway when in our world (‘its not an enchanted box its a phone tap!!!’) I kinda always got the feeling Regina wasn’t even that well learned in magic. We saw she had to ask Rumple to help her change her look, (though we know later she knew how to do it herself,) she got the dark curse from Rumple, she got the sleeping curse from Maleficent (and was unaware of its side effects till Rumple explained) so perhaps without her powers she wouldn’t be that helpless after all.

She was pretty much cold turkey for 28 years in SB though (she barely used magic in cursed SB) that didnt make any difference did it? I hope they don’t use this as an excuse for her to be redeemed, that just defeats the whole purpose of her choosing and deciding her actions for herself.

I wonder if she is still wearing the cuff when she goes to NL or wherever on hooks ship with everyone else. Maybe she doesn’t have her powers, and surrendered and begged to help w henry.

I’m thinking Emma’s magic will ultimately help Regina get her powers back. They set a precedent for this at the beginning of the season. Emma touched Regina, which gave her access to magic.
