We saw in 303 that Regina’s heart is as black as coal. And in 309 Regina told Pan that she yes she cast a curse that devastated an entire land, she’s murdered and tortured but she regrets nothing because it got her Henry, something she didn’t even know she wanted.
If Regina truly regrets nothing, than has her redemption really begun? Does she first must regret the pain and heartache she caused (same goes for Rumple and Hook!). Can their be redemption without confession and penance?

It would take too long to go through past wrongs..sometimes it’s best to keep moving forward and be better. That goes for Regina, Rumple, and Hook…just move forward!

But is it wise to just sweep all that hurt and heartache under the rug? “The past is the past!” and not deal with it. If Regina (and Rumple, Hook) never recognize that they’ve done is WRONG and CRUEL and HURT people then how can they move on and become better people?

That without the murder, torture, and the curse, she would have never gotten to him and thus not have a reason to change. I think >> *babbling*

All Regina, Rumple, and Hook need is someone that can help them move forward, and now they have it! In the past, all they had was themselves to rely on thus leaving them to their own darkness with no light. But now Rumple has Belle and Neal who will help him move forward to the light and redemption. Hook has companionship with Emma and David who will help him move forward. And Regina has family in Henry and Emma, friendship with Tinkerbelle(who never truly lost faith in her), and soon Robin and Roland who will all help her move forward! They have family!

NOT going to happen… in PROMO we hear them state PAST GRUDGES are revived… I think the road to redemption will be bumpy for both REGINA AND GOLD. go ahead and put the spoiler tags on this… can’t find them …December 1, 2013 at 10:11 pm #227312RumplesGirlKeymasterHmmm I think what Regina is saying is that Henry is her light… That he is her reason to change. ABSOLUTELY Henry is her light. And Belle and Bae are Rumple’s. But it’s not redemption if you don’t first acknowledge that you’ve done wrong and want to atone.
The same goes for the bad things that our heroes have done: Snow should atone for telling Regina’s secret. Neal should atone for what he did to Emma.

Now I completely agree!

December 1, 2013 at 10:22 pm #227321RumplesGirlKeymasterSo if this whole season Regina has been going down Redemption Road, I feel like she just fell off! It was a total back pedal. And I knew that would happen, same with Rumple, but I was a little disappointed to just out and out hear her say, “I regret nothing.” Rumple regrets everything he has done but it was in the service of his son, a son he already had. Regina still did it all for revenge and she needs to start atoning or at least confessing that her reasons were revenge, not to find a child because Henry wasn’t even in her life until 11 years ago.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 1, 2013 at 10:54 pm #227345kpercymanParticipantRG: I get what you are saying but after becoming a mother I understand where Regina is coming from. Sure before I had my son I had regrets about joining the army and leaving college. However, if I had not done that I would not have met my husband and I would not be waking up to a sweet little boy every morning.
So in a sense I hate that she doesn’t regret the pain she has caused but I can see how she reasons what happened with the outcome of having Henry.
