Rumple fans, here’s a wonderful podcast you’ll enjoy:
    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/videos-pics/2010/05/03/walk-with-giants-robert-carlyle-86908-22229832/

Recorded two years ago as he was walking around his hometown of Glasgow, Robert Carlyle talks in candid detail about his childhood, his love for his children and his father, and the book that changed his direction in life.

I’ve noticed that in his films, RC gives each character a unique laugh (the only actor I’ve ever seen do that!), so it was interesting to hear RC’s natural laugh, quite different from his characters’, which comes up quite often here.

Oh man – I’m at work right now but as soon as I get home I am ON this. A book that changed his life? TELLMENOWPLEASE. I’ll read it. I’ve been desperate to know his reading habits for awhile… I’m only a little obsessed. Please tell me it’s not like “I was walking along and this book – I don’t even know what it was (words, shrug) fell out of a window and hit me on the head which caused me to have to go to a hospital, and while there I met a man who introduced me to the concept of aCtInG.”

    Thank you!

That is one heck of a life’s story. It kinda explains some of the characters he chooses to play in movies and tv. I love the guy even more now that I know his story 😀

That was absolutely beautiful. Seems such a tough childhood… and to have a father that loved him so much to do what he did. You know he must think about his dad a lot when he portrays Rumplestiltskin (esp pre-curse Rumple).

As far as the book goes… I won’t even say anything. Some people just don’t read “books”. And you know what? It’s fine. It’s FINE.
