There is a resistance brewing against Lady Tremaine and the royals in New!EF. What did LT do to make the residents hate her so much? How does the Prince figure into all this?

I cant say the word I want to say but I’m sure its the same thing as with Regina. Even though she probably doesn’t interact much with the lower class, they hate her so much because shes an incredible….uh….witch.
She probably has people killed on a whim, the people cant come to her with any of their issues as shes uncaring for any of their plights and she’s always only focused on her own goals and no one elses and thus makes a crappy leader which probably has lead to a lot of issues for them.

Is that why the resistance is watching her? I don’t see why she would be of that big of importance otherwise.

Yeah I don’t either. Is she part of the royal family? Normally Lady T and her kids are noble but not royal–it’s actually kind of a big plot point to the Cinderella story that LT wants her daughters to marry into royalty.

If it turns out that Lady Tremaine is also Rapunzel then that could complicate the narrative, too. Of course, it depends on whether or not OUAT follows the Disney version Tangled.

Was Cinderella’s father the king and then the prince that was killed’s father then murdered Cinderella’s father to become king and Tremaine was trying to take the thrown back somehow. That was just all very confusing. I couldn’t tell if the resistance who was against the royal family was talking about the king, whomever that is, and the prince who was just murdered, or if they were talking about Tremaine.
We know that Tremaine murdered Cinderella’s father, took part in that conspiracy, as did the prince who was killed, but Tremaine doesn’t seem to be the power in the land, not like Regina was, or Snow was, or Rumpel was, at least from what we have seen.
I think there was a lot of implying here without showing or telling us enough for us to understand what is going on. It is always the throw away comments that are so thoughtless because the writers haven’t thought about anything.

I’m thinking Lady Tremaine is just an important person in power within the kingdom. She’s Lady Tremaine so Ella’s father would have been a Lord and that would make him of some importance.
October 25, 2017 at 5:10 pm #343733hjbauParticipantI think that is it too, but it was bizarre for them to group the royal family and Tremaine together when Tremaine had just murdered a member of the royal family. Though, Tremaine is blaming that murder on Ella, so there is that. I imagine the Resistance members would know that it was Tremaine that killed the prince, but Tremaine wants Drizella to marry the second prince and become a member of the royal family, so i imagine that Tremaine will eventually become the power in the land. She just isn’t right now.
