If anything’s going to make Rumple go dark again, or even tempt him, it’d be Hades…it sets up a great storyline for Belle and Neal, too.
I actually disagree with you. I think if he is in some sort of Hades/Limbo/afterlife then his punishment is to watch all his crimes flash before his eyes. And it’s in seeing what he has done to others (in the name of both fatherhood and power) that will make him truly repentant and remorseful. And that’s the next step in becoming a man again.

I’d like that path too! Pretty much any storyline where there’s more Robert Carlyle switching back and forth between Rumple and Dark One works for me. That man has more range than almost any other actor I can think of; it’s awesome to just sit back and watch.

All of this times a thousand! (I would take Bobby reading a phone book!)
I certainly think that whatever has happened to Rumple is not going to be such a walk in the park for him, it’s going to effect him dramatically. This would be the perfect opportunity to show some RumBelle and Floof family stuff where Belle and Bae are supporting Rumple and helping him to overcome whatever he has been through.
All magic comes with a price!
