Snow lost (3) loved ones: Eva, Leopold, Johanna
Regina lost (3) loved ones: Cora, Henry Sr., Daniel
Snow killed only (1) of the other’s loved ones: Cora
Regina/Cora killed all (3) of the other’s loved ones: Eva, Leopold, Johanna
Snow only gets one point in this game! Regina’s family takes the rest, even if they try to blame it on Snow, it’s just not true!
Am I missing any other deaths in here that need revenging?
How do you guys feel about getting revenge for revenge?
I hate it. I drives me CRAZY. It’s the epitome of injustice! Cora could’ve just humiliated Eva back and possibly got her turned into a peasant somehow, once she was a magic princess herself. And then they would’ve been even. But no, she starts this whole vicious cycle of killing that leads to her own death and leads to the murder of her daughter’s lover that (for some reason) makes the daughter hate Snow too and her hating of Snow leads her to kill her own father and curse the entire world.
And then when Snow decides she wants some revenge for all this crap that has happened to her for something she didn’t know her mother did, and something she did as a kid and can’t be truly blamed for… Regina decides that she wants revenge for Snow’s revenge!
GEEZ!!!
I’d also like to bring up Hook. Rumple took revenge on Milah and Hook for adultery. Then Hook took revenge on Rumple for murder. Where do you think that’s going to go next? It looks to me like Rumple is starting a redemption arc. So perhaps he will avoid the mistakes Cora made and settle things with Hook, without involving the whole world (again).

March 12, 2013 at 5:12 pm #179376RumplesGirlKeymasterI think it makes for interesting story telling and when you have characters are literally larger than life and not of this world it’s almost to be expected. If they were normal humans, this show would be…well, it would be called Revenge and take place in the Hamptons.
Revenge for revenge, in the real world, is idiotic, I agree. However, with SB and FTL, ect we aren’t in the real world. We exist there in a magically constructed world where revenge is woven into the landscape because that’s often how myths/fairy tales function. A individual or that individual’s family is dishonored or wrongs, you take revenge. It’s cyclical.

I concur with RumplesGirl, the characters are literally larger than life, so itโs harmless entertainment. Maybe Regina will start to find a possible boyfriend in season three and eventually move on from hating on Snow. That would be a great twist, Regina forgives Snow, but Snow still harbors anger towards Regina (What?). ๐ฎ
I’m trying to figure out, who they can make Regina’s “Happy Ever After” love interest? Needs to be someone new, so we can watch the relationship develop. Maybe she travels to Oz and she and the wizard develop a relationship.

That’s a great perspective. Family feuds can be like that in even real life… although the only such feud that is coming to mind is the Montagues and the Capulets… It starts and it goes on for so long that no one even remembers who started it or what they’re getting revenge for, it’s just all part of the mutual hatred. It IS cyclical, isn’t it?
Well. I’m looking forward to the part where it finally gets settled… somehow or another!

That would be fantastic!
March 13, 2013 at 3:44 am #179557jessieparadoxes of peopleParticipantI do agree with RumplesGirl:these are larger than life characters,so it prevents it from being another Revenge.but I also think they are still very, very realistic in their behaviors.Cora didn’t want to settle for some ordinary revenge.Noooo! In her mind what Eva(and Xavier)did was deserving of far more than the same humiliation she went through. It’s human nature to want to strike back with a greater force,to make sure they pay twice what we ourselves suffered.Murders have been committed for similar reasons.So…..is it right? No.Does it suck?Absolutely. Is it interesting to see it play out?Yes!Can we learn from it?I hope so.
Keeper of King George's Coat of arms;Tiny's pickaxe;Belle's bronze vase;Emma Hacker device and true love kiss to Henry;Granny's surcharge on pickles;Snow's "Good will always win;Regina's apple turnover;Gold's pink shirt,Mickey phone,&glasses(1x12);RQ's chess set,and Chip's shattered remains

๐ ๐ That makes me wonder who would win a battle of the revenge, Regina or Madeline Stowe’s Victoria?
Revenge’s Daniel would just be like, “You’re all messed up. Clean up your own mess!”
March 14, 2013 at 4:04 am #179820lilredParticipantI’m not sure the issue is ‘revenge’ but going to such elaborate, time consuming means to get it. If your revenge fantasy is so detailed and far stretching that you can’t get it done in one generation – it’s time to get a hobby. Stamp collecting. Teaching disadvantaged children how to read…anything would be a better use of your time then hoping all the elements come together in a decade that work into your revenge plot…kidding! Revenge is wrong. Everyone needs to love each other and get along. ๐
