The writers could have easily addressed this by having Hook’s body taken to the Underworld by Charon, rather than burying his corpse in Storybrooke.
I forgot that his body is buried in SB! So wait…what is the *plan* ??? Why are we going to the Underworld at all?! Emma’s going to find his soul, and then how is she going to get him out of there? If all she needs to do is split her heart then just split the heart in SB.

Charming’s heart was crushed, so he needed a new one so Snow gave half of hers. Hook’s heart is still in his chest but he died for other cause (what was it btw, the cut by Excalibur or giving up DO-hood or just a sword driven through his guts? I need to rewatch this). What I’m trying to say is I hope bringing him back to life takes more than just half of a heart, that would be a serious let-down even at this point of the series.

Perhaps they need his soul because he’s been dead too long. They tried reviving a certain dead someone with an enchanted heart before and he came back wrong all and had to be destoyed. Maybe they’ve worked out how to do it now without the deadee going all Frankenstein’s monster.

Good point. Maybe the plan is two fold: get Hook’s soul and bring that back to SB, then put the heart inside Hook’s body and *magic* happens in which by inserting his heart into his body, his soul is tethered back to his body.
