Amiright??? So, now I am wondering if Robin’s act of sacrifice has created some new magic, all it’s own???

It probably *should* give Regina the same sort of protection like it did with Harry but I doubt the writers understand their own world and how magic operates in it enough to follow through with that.

I am thinking of when Lilly jumped in front of Harry to save him from the death curse!!!

But sadly, no one on this writing staff is JK. Jane Espenson is the best they’ve got, but I’m afraid she’s not enough anymore.

You never know, cause I can name a few other possible Harry Potter references in this episode. That scene with Hook and Arthur fending off that skeleton creature at the River of Lost Souls reminded me of when Harry and Dumbledore had to fend off against a bunch of Inferi. In a cave setting too, no less. Then the Hook and Zeus scene felt very much like the iconic Harry and Dumbledore “Kings Cross” scene.

Hi. I apologize for the painful things I am about to say. ? ~ I had an interesting thought. When I first heard the spoilers about Robin’s death, and some hints about how it would happen, you know what it reminded me of? Something about the randomness, the pain for the sake of pain, the loss because of a magic so unnecessary, but so unavoidable. And the heroes so helpless to do anything about it. And all the lost potential of of all the happiness that could have been, <em class=”d4pbbc-italic”>should have been. Do you know what all that reminded me of??? <strong class=”d4pbbc-bold”>Sirius Black!!! ? ? ~ But now that I have actually seen it, and thought about it, I am thinking something rather different. Because, the way Robin dove in front of Regina to take that blast instead of her: now I am reminded of something else. I am thinking of <em class=”d4pbbc-italic”>when Lilly jumped in front of Harry to save him from the death curse!!! ? ? ? Amiright??? So, now I am wondering if Robin’s act of sacrifice has created some new magic, all it’s own??? But sadly, no one on this writing staff is JK. Jane Espenson is the best they’ve got, but I’m afraid she’s not enough anymore. ? ~ Yeah, like I said, sorry. ? SFG

As brilliant, and I do mean brilliant as this all sounds….I just don’t think Adam and Eddy are smart enough to come up with an epic storyline like that!

Oh that was straight up King’s Cross. Like right down to the way the scene was lit and the set dressing.

Cause ripping off Buffy and Game of Thrones is not enough so they did Harry Potter as well. What will be the next film/TV/book/story they rip off?

    Doctor Who?

I’ve said this many times before but Hook is a creator’s pet. He meets all the criteria required to be considered one.

    From Tv Tropes http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CreatorsPet

The Creator’s Pet is a combination of being:
    • Hated by fans (The Scrappy)
    • Loved (or worshipped) by the writers (Creator’s Favorite)
    • Put into big scenes for no reason (Character Focus)
    • Talked up by the other characters (Character Shilling)

Robin was never built up to be anything other than Regina’s purse holder. The writers made that mistake in 3B and they never corrected it. Robin still shouldn’t have died though.

All magic comes with a price!

I didn’t care much for Robin, especially the 4B stuff that just made me shudder whenever I gave more than a passing thought to his storyline.

But now I am shuddering about his storyline for different reasons, and even tearing up….

People have mentioned how Robin is not going to get an happy afterlife, no peaceful heaven-like place like Cora, Neal, etc, have gotten.

That was bad enough… And then I thought about the people that will die after him, and never see him again. When Regina dies, she won’t have a happy reunion with him. Same the Merry Men, Roland, and Robin Junior. Marion, who is there, will see shared associates join her at some point, and find out Robin is never coming.

We can imagine Neal being reunited with *most* of his friends and family some day (sadly not his mother, and I guess depends on where his father ends up). But Robin, no, that has, by all appearances, taken away. No happy ending *ever* not even in the afterlife. And the happy afterlife for all his loved-ones and friends, will be a less happier for it too. Hope, phhhhht.

So why exactly did the vague “something” give Regina page 23 in 4×15 to show her that a happy ending with Robin was possible, if her happy ending with Robin WASN’T going to happen because the writers were going to kill him off?!?! Sigh.
