In the finale, Rumple tells Charming that he’s a big fan of true love and what it creates. This statement seems to me to be highly significant.
The way he said it–combined with the fact that Rumple’s first acts, once he gained magic, were to free the children from the Ogres War, and combined with Rumple’s baby-related deals– give me the impression that the theme of season 2 will be the rise of the children. Season 1 showed us the way the parents messed up: perhaps season 2 will focus on how their children (Emma, August, Bae, Henry) make things right again.

I think he was mostly referring to Emma. He may have had everything else set in place for the transfer to SB, (the true love potion, a person desperate enough to enact the curse, a specific place and time to go) but still needed a savior to be born and break the curse.
I love the title for this thread by the way 😀

Rumpel’s reasoning for creating the Dark Curse, Geppetto sneaking Pinnocchio into the wardrobe, Emma finally believing in magic, Regina’s numerous attempts at murdering Emma. All of these actions had a huge impact on the story as a whole, and they were all inspired by the love of their children.
The producers have already said that we’re going to find out what happened to Baelfire in season 2. So, I’m expecting his appearance to have a HUGE impact on the show in general. And if the theories about Baelfire being Henry’s biological father turn out to be right, then that puts Henry in a very interesting position. So, not only is the son of the savior, but he’d also be the grandson of the most powerful man in the world. So, what does that make Henry? PRETTY BAD A** THAT’S WHAT!!! :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:
The children of the show’s main players (Emma, Henry, Baelfire) are going to have a big impact in season 2. I think we’re going to finally hear their side of story and get some good character development from them as well.

If it does turn out to be true, their family reunions are going to be so awkward. 😆

I was thinking about what Rumpel said too. I guess it would make sense to explore how children try to fix what went wrong in Storybrooke in season 2.

I like this theory though… I know that the talk was that they would focus more on Emma’s “romantic” relationship with her mother and romantic interest this season, which makes me believe there is more breaking to the “curse”, but I would like to know how they are going to incorporate Rumpel’s love for first-borns.
