KeymasterWhy did Rumple want Robert’s hair? We know that he created the true love potion that made Emma the Savior out of Charming and Snow’s but why would he need Robert’s?

ParticipantHe didn’t after Robert left Rumple threw the hair on the ground and said something like small items can mean big things in that sarcastic tone of voice. He was just putting on a show because he saw himself in Robert. It was one of the best Rumple moments in a very long time. I miss that aspect of Rumple where he does not want anyone to see his vulnerable side but yet the audience gets to see that under the beast their is a grieving father.

ParticipantMaybe Rumpel caused Charming to be visited by Robert. That seemed to be really happening. Maybe he spelled the coin.

I 100% missed that. Thanks. I think I was making a note about parallels between the two men and missed that. Blarg.

ParticipantI thought this was a nice moment as well. It’s nice that every once in a while the show remembers that Rumple was also a father who had lost his son and was desperate to find him again.

ModeratorHow Rumple reacted during the end of that scene was classic Season 1 Rumple. It was a very nice touch to the episode. The episode was written by Jane, so I guess she’s still capable of writing good material for Rumple every now and then.

This episode felt like Bobby was back in top form. It was really nice to see him enthusiastic again.

Maybe he really is enjoying the Gideon storyline, since it goes back to the roots of Rumple doing things for his son.

Yeah, that. It was a nice nod to Rumple and his love for Bae — his one real redeeming quality in my estimation.

I’m curious about what exactly he had said during that scene. It sounded like he was saying that someday he will be lucky enough to be reunited with his sons (plural)…but I wasn’t 100% sure because I would think he’d be talking about only one son. I didn’t have captions on, so I couldn’t confirm one way or the other. I know they like to throw hints and shocks in at moments like that, so it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for him to have said sons.
