That is a good observation concerning Red. Red having Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde qualities could make for a good future storyline with her being the daughter of Dr. Jekyll. Jekyll after having been Mr. Hyde for sometime uses his daughter to find acure because she accidentally drank the Hyde potion. He has to now cure his daughter as well as himself.
I think Eliza is her real name. Red did not object to being called that and besides even though Liza Minnelli does wear a lot of make up, I certainly do not think Liza is as good looking as Red. You can’t compare the two. There is no comparison Megan Ory is much prettier than Liza ever was, is or will be.
It is also possible that David has simliar blackout symptoms that Red did. The two of them (Red and Charming) seem to get along good together but we still really do not know how the two met exactly. There was that early episode where they had met and talked but it seemed as though they already knew each other. Maybe they are related and do not know it or yet or they do know but we don’t??? If it can be either confirmed that he has werewolf qualites or that they are related, it will explain why they get along so well. As of yet there is only speculation but I think we are all on to something. We need to see one more Red episode with Charming in it.
Any thoughts??? Plausible??

Granny says Red started transforming when she was 12 or 13, right? That is a normal age when the menstrual cycle starts. There could be that connection. Or it’s just because it’s the supposed start of puberty.
I think Red starting her transformation at the age of puberty is a totally a connection to her sexuality and her wolf.
Regarding her two different selves
Red/ Ruby reminds me of this quote from Dr. Clarissa Pinkola EstΓ©s, who wrote “Women who run with the Wolves”:
A healthy woman is much like a wolf ~ robust, inventive, loyal, fierce.
Yet separation from her wildish nature causes a woman to become meager, ghostly, anxious about leaping, fearful to create new life. This describes Red and Ruby both, it just manifests itself in two different ways.

I think it is important to note that she never mentioned Rumple’s name when talking to Snow with the whole Angry Snow Potion incident, nor has Red ever been to or seen going to or with Rumple. She has been seen with Gold as Ruby but no real direct contact. The direct contact happened between Gold and Granny and moments later with Gold and Emma. Even in SB she never is too close to Gold nor directly mentions his name there too. She barely speaks of him in SB.

Yet. π
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Red going to him for something. He has been involved everywhere else, plus I’m pretty sure Granny got the cloak from him, so he knows about Red and her situation. Even if she doesn’t make a deal with him, I can see her going to see him about getting rid of her wolf, but he would not being able to.

Granny said she got it from a wizard. Unless it has something to do with the wizard’s hat in the background in Skin Deep and using the wand acquired from the fairy he killed I do not think he is at all a wizard type of magic user.

I would love to see that.

I’ll have to disagree. A wizard, to me at least is simply a man who has magical powers. So I think the term would fit.
Plus, I can’t think of another male character in Fairy tales who would be a wizard. Maybe Merlin but he isn’t from a fairytale.

If the cloak was received by Rumple then Granny would not have said wizard. Since when does anyone refer to him in any positive way. His trades costs and usually have people coming back for more like an addict. since when does his stuff ever do any good without hurting another as opposed to actually helping. It would have been stressed that she got that cloak but it also cost her something else for it.

“Red, you have something on your lip” π
So from the episode, it looks like Red has learned to control her Wolf. I was hoping for this, but didn’t expect it so soon.
I wonder if we are going to see how she learned to do this. Also I wonder if Granny, when she could change, was able to control her wolf too?

When researching that scene, I think Grumpy actually says: “Red, you have SOMEONE on your lip”. Just makes the line that more hilarious! π
