there’s NO WAY that Gold would just sit there and let Neal die. after he sacrificed and sacrificed and sacrificed and sacrificed for that boy, there is no way. He would have yelled at Emma, he would have begged her to reverse the spell, he would have done something…

so here’s my theory: did you notice how Hook hugged Neal right before he was off to search for his father? maybe it’s because he knew that this may be the last time he will see him. I bet he had some sort of a plan with Rumpelstiltskin to save Bae. maybe there would be a way to change back, so that Rumpel will die and bring back Bae. but Killian, knowing how much Bae needs his father, will outsmart Rumpelstiltskin and take the fall instead.
remember when Emma told Hook that the life she thought she could have.. it was not “in the cards” for the savior? those same words… when Hook told Rumpelstiltskin to kill him and he’s gonna be reunited with Milah Rumple’s answer: “it’s not ‘in the cards’ for you my boy”
just a small foreshadowing I guess…

so maybe Hook somehow found out what Baelfire did and decided to do something to help…

maybe it wasn’t a bird who told Hook to get Emma. Maybe it was Rumpelstiltskin who told him.

hmmm….. I can see how by the end of this season Rumpelstiltskin will love Hook more than he ever loved Milah.

this might be what the writers said about “tricks up his sleeves” ways to save Bae even when it seems like there’s no way… and this might be what they meant about “even after death true love always wins. always.” maybe the true love that Hook feels for Bae and Bae feels for Rumpel and Rumpel feels for Hook and Bae will FIX what happened in this episode

my thoughts on your theory: a. they practically fed us this episode in the same hook and baelfire ocnversation that it was baelfire who sent hte message to Hook.

however

b. I do agree that this is something that Killina might do i took Killian’s conversation with Neal as ‘Hey dude let me apologize before you die so I can make myself look better.’ but it could easily be taken as ‘This is what i think of you, I would do anything to help my bro.’

I sincerely hope your theory is right but I will be sad wohever dies.
